Half of the shed:

The other half:

Today was a fairly major re-organisation and tidy up, so it is less cluttered in there now. The YZ125E with no handle bars is now dismantled and it's motor is in the F (red seat, no motor).

The motors:
(http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f128/annaandnathan/Photo0005.jpg) Plus there's a couple of YZ250J/K motors in the garage...

(http://)(http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb130/yzhilly/Beerfridge.jpg) Here's the beer fridge also makes a good tele stand. The last three in the line are still wet ,Had a good ride today at Frankston MX track. The YZ400E is getting better but it's suspension will need some more work.I feel like i've got a new pirelli up the clacker  !! ouch.

Two years ago, I had the TM and the DT250 (can you see a DT250 in those pics? Neither can I, but it's there!  :D ).
And did I mention the six bikes* in the garage?

YZ125A and YZ125X (hi DJR!) and then I'm done... But of course, I wouldn't knock back a YZ250A or CR250RH or 84 KTM125 or SL70 or...

*DT175 x2, WR360, KTM250, RT1, AT2.

OH a YZ125X. If there is a bike out there that gets some funny looks from the modern riders its the X. Standing at about half the height of a new bike and with the rev counter and speedo on top of the forks most people have to ask what the hell are they for. ;D. You need to get one Nathan. Someone over there must have one they dont need???

My dear old beer fridge. I ran out of space for stickers in about 1994. It hasn't missed a beat in the garage since 1972.

Nathan, lots of your treasure looks very similar to a truck load of pus I sold to some bloke lives near Canberra ::)
Firko, Arr that should be laminated to preserve an aussie icon! still  Bultaco parts has a new number. and the VMX mag sticky 1994? (he he) Ajay ,appears to be all bike related or bike related items stickers, just not sure on what "ALLIS" is? Still a brillant effort. :D Tim
Title: Re: shed pic & fridges
Post by: AjayVMX on August 10, 2007, 06:27:56 am
Thanks Tim.

There are a few non-bike related stickers on the fridge (and Allis was a company I used to work for, used to be Allis Chalmers) for which I apologise.  At one stage I would just put any damn things on it.... ::)

And the winner is...kb171,for the most stickers in one photo. Well done son! Your free subsription to stickers anon. is on the way.Where do you PLAN to put the next sticker?? Maybe the family dog? I shave my dog so they stick better! Mighty fine effort ;)

This is the tropical style workshop, The front wall does not exist and it never gets cold enough to worry about it. The area can't be seen from the front of the house and I have great neighbours and noisy dogs.
The area under the stairs is storage for up to 5 bikes and parts.
Just enough room to work on one bike in comfort.
On the other side of the wall is my wife's stained glass/leadlight workshop, twice this size and airconed, where did I go wrong?????????????

You guys should check this out, www.garagejournal.com.  Mostly a bunch of americans with way too much money.  A lot of soulless big fancy spaces.  I prefer "real" sheds seen here that take years of accumlating and refining.

I've heard of you!!
Friends up north say there's a bloke in the area who'll do the deed in return for any old trail bike.
Story is the lonely ladies are hauling rusty dungers from the old mans shed in payment for services rendered.

They called him 'Rim shot buddy' but I didn't make the connection 'til now!
Way ta go - good on you!! ;) :D ;D

Since we can post pictures again, I though I would add a couple of shots from my shed. Some time I think that a big shed isn't all it's cracked up too bee, it just means that you end up "collection more crap" (the wifes words) I refer to it as "storing valuable resourses for future use".

Wow, now that's what I call a shed  :o. A nice balance of organised chaos.

....and the toys  :o

....stolen number plates and all. Even allegiance to the Puss :o ;D

I hope that's not a sidecar with the foam panels on it.

Yes, there is a RV125 in the eclectic mix of 34 bike that live in the shed.

Not one number plate stolen, all are from vehicles I have owned plus one that was given to me by a US submariner in Guam off of his Californian registered pickup truck.

16 years in the puss, ex CPO Gunbuster.

Yes that is a sidecar body, for 1978 XS1100 Yamaha if I ever get my finger out and finish building the chassis.

:D Oh lordy yes. As the saying goes: The shit expands to fill the available space.

We bought our place largely because it has good car and bike storage... When I moved in, everything was clean and tidy and well-ordered. About six months later, all of the space was filled up.
Now it's just as much of a pig-sty than the old place - but a bigger one.

1960 C71 Dream 250 (original condition)
1964 C72 Dream 250 (original condition)
1964 C102 Super Cub 50cc (original condition)
1972? QA50 (tidied up and ridable)
1972? XL250 Motorsport (wreck to be VMX'd)
1972? XL350 (rolling chassis only)
1972? SL125 (original condition to be restored)
1976 TL125S (original condition ridable)

I forgot, there is also a CD175 and the remains of 2 x SL175 twins buried under a pile of stuff in the back corner of the shed

Good start but a little to neat cause looks like ya can walk around fairly safely!!!, not enough sidecars, Suggest you build a mezzanine floor to fill with loads more priceless irreplaceable crap ....oops treasure. not enough sidecars , get more tools on display boards, easier to find them and notice when free loading friends, neighbours and family (the worst offenders!) borrow and don't bring the needed right now ones back. insufficient sidecars, Failed to notice any blatantly stolen signs, posters ,number plates ,inflatable dolls, Good to see a TV of course you do have a DVD player and loud sound system attached??  Hmmm  keep going I think you will get there!  ;) :D :)
(Add more sidecars ;) Cheers Tim

He has broken the first rule of a 'blokes shed' - if there is an available space it got to filled with 'I'll find a use for that one day' junk  :-[. Nice try but no cupee doll ;D.

I know a bloke who has a shed like that...everything in its place and a place for everything. He polishes his tools, waxes the floor and his cars have little carpet squares under each tyre. Speaking of his cars, he spends all day Saturday 8am-5pm cleaning and maintaining them....every Saturday, with only rare exceptions. If you're lucky enough to be offered a beer in his shed it's placed on a nice fresh coaster and if that coaster gets even slightly soggy it's instantly replaced with a dry one. If you dare to place the beer down away from the coaster he'll quietly reach over and put it on the coaster for you! The empty beer bottle is whisked away as soon as the last drop is drained and placed in the colour coder glass recycling bin. It's a very uncomfortable experience doing anything at his house, for fear of doing something to disrupt his orderly existence. I bet you the above anal retentive lives a similar well ordered and very creepy life.

Well, we are just in the process of selling up and moving out , so while the mrs has been hard at work dusting, cleaning and vacuming the house to impress potential buyers - I have been out in my shed shuffling around my bikes and parts to make that same first impresion. Firstly, the RM got moved to the front of the que of bikes to greet them as they step into "my domain" then the KX's are stategically placed towards the rear to lure them in and challenge their comfort level as they negotiate their footing amongst Ralph's bad habbits - more on that later! . Finaly the bike parts were scattered in such a way as to inspire the bloke in us all - not too many, but just enough to let the creative juices swell.
Anyway I had to vacate my house today with Ralph my labrador for an hour or so to let the prospective buyers look around at their leasure, so when I got back, Ralphs keen nose soon told us in no uncertain terms that the RM was a winner and that more people were out in my shed being impressed and inspired than a couple of house wives looking at the oven or shower.
Bottom line - sheds sell! that's why we (I) bought this house in the first place. Why are we selling? Saw this place, close to schools, nice gardens, tidy street, good location - And a shed with three phase power!!!

My collections were Montesa, XL honda's mostly while I like the Maico's I have never bought any. I did have 3 YZ 250 A's at one time but someone wanted them far more than me a while back. MX montesa frames are very different from the enduro ones so I did stash a few of those but they have all gone to new homes and hopefully back to the track.

After giving the council just over 3 K in fees they most kindly allowed me to build my shed

(http://i582.photobucket.com/albums/ss270/ted84photos/010-1.jpg)(http://But before i could put anything in it i had to beautify the local surrounds ( at more cost to me )

http://i582.photobucket.com/albums/ss270/ted84photos/009-1.jpg)

And do some major structural work to the supporting frame ( the pissy little strap )

All the while letting the scumbag next door do this ( there is over 120 of them and with the containers and other shit he has it covers over 4 acres ( 16,000 sq mtrs )

The lock up...To keep my kids and the thieving pricks out of my stuff )

The fridge in the shot is an AWA.....It is older than me

The house fridge shit itself the other week so the bar fridges from the office and the shed are getting a run upstairs

I see your problem now Ted next door neighbour being a prick.

We use to have a fairly decent shed at our old house I could have had my bikes sitting in different spots but they are in a line so if you want the one furthest away you have to take them all out :-[

Hey Stan ,,Doggy Digger on this forum was selling them at Classic Dirt 8 for 15$ - I'm thinking/hopeing he may come down in price now that the event is over  :P  ;D  as I could give them for presents or to trophy winning riders.I have sent a message/smoke signal for another 5 ;D

I remember reading in an old MXA about Stanton and Bradshaw (I think?) riding those, up against the CR's etc before they canned the 500 class in the US. They didn't have anything nice to say about them, but I reckon the comparisons between bikes in the 'shootouts' the magazines run, both then and now' is mostly nitpicking.

BTW, that shed is crying out for a mezzanine floor to double the amount of 'stuff' you can hide/fit in there ;D. Good going though, I just figured out how to make my 9x9 shed bigger on the weekend without having to re-invent the wheel.

At least there is one decent bike there.  I love the Maico.  The 1977 Maico AW 400 is my second favorite Maico.  If you have to ask what my favorite Maico is you don't know Maicos.

you know you will havta get more bikes when you move out into a bigger shed ;)
Over the years I've been watching with interest the surface area to motorcycle ratio and yes its a constant so on average you will remain in a flux of restricted space even if you had a Jumbo jets hangar for a workshop :o
Is there anybody that can dispute this claim :P
