That guy's on drugs trusting a Bultaco with their reliability record and a gearbox full of neutrals out in the  desert. :D

Come on you guys, your a tough crowd, I for one hope he does well and finishes. I thought being a vintage forum maybe he would have got some support for having a go on a 70's model bike but obviously I was wrong :)
By the way as far I as I know he has finished the third day in 153rd position.

Stan.

I reckon Ignacio deserves a big group hug for his effort. Rememeber how cool we all thought Geoff Ballard was when he rode an '81 Maico in the ISDE a few years ago, well I reckon Ignatio Chivers effort topps GB by 300%. He doesn't appear to be all that youthful either!
Too cool. 8)

Yeah I hope he gets through okay too, allthough I think he's cheating.
They don't look like Bultaco forks to me. :o ;D

If you take the tank, nav equipment and the cheaters off the front, you end up with one pretty close to standard what should be a blue(78) Frontera.
The other thing is the lack of sponsor stickers (Money)that the other bikes have plastered all over them. That would make it tough.

Remember the story we did on him in Issue 31, when he tackled the rally in Egypt?  He said then that he was planning on doing the Dakar.  Good on you Ignacio.

This is one tough guy the pictures dont tell the story of how rugged this place is I was there this time last year although a lot further south in Chile and it was the first week of summer minus 7 snow, rain, hail and the saying is if you dont like the weather in Patagonia just wait it will change.
The funny part is from Santiago along the Andes to Cape Horn is blowing and cold yet on the other side of the Andes its desert and 40 a good test for the Bul
Good luck he is a star!!!!

The 2 white tanks on the side are Acerbis fuel tanks.
