John Titman Racing is the importer i think,if your local shop deals with them they should be able to get one for you,Titmans may only wholesale not deal direct with the public,not sure but have a look on there website :)

DO NOT even consider a Taiwanese Gunnar Gasser copy. One of them cost me 3 months off work and a shoulder that still talks to me on chilly winters evenings. I've bought a couple of genuine ones off eBay but be careful when looking. ;)

It happened twice Jerry. The first time was on my '73 250 Maico...At Nepean dirt track I'd taken off at the start giving it the usual stick through the gears until it was time to dial off and go back a couple of cogs and grab a hand full of brake for the hard left first turn. I didn't even have time to panic when the throttle wouldn't return, stuck on full stick I took out Dave Dunne on his XL350 and another bloke on a TM Suzuki and then high sided into the drainage ditch that used to be on the outside of the corner, the bike cartwheeling another twenty feet snapping off the cherry original fibreglass front and rear mudguards and the pipe stinger. Luckily I survived with just a couple of scratches and bruises.
A month or so later I was aboard my DT1 play racing my mate on his modern at Pacific Park when the same thing happened. I hit a berm tapped in top or 4th (can't remember, it was 1992) and took off like Seth Enslow, landing on my shoulder under the bike. This one cost me a broken elbow and collarbone, torn sternum and a dislocated shoulder. I was off work for almost 3 months, it nearly cost me my job and house as I had no insurance. It also caused the end of my rugby 'career'...it's a bit hard being a tight head prop with a dicky shoulder. The reason for both accidents was the plastic tab/loop thing that holds the cable nipple broke off causing the nipple to turn and jam in the throttle housing. I was stupid in thinking that the first incident on the Maico was a fluke one off....I should have replaced both throttles straight away. I don't even like genuine Gassers these days as the design has sown some seeds of doubt in my mind. I have one on my trials bike which I might replace now I think of it. :o

Tight prop with a dicky shoulder better than a tight dick and a propy shoulder. Is that a homo rugby thing!! I've dislocated my shoulder 19 times which all started back in about 1974 I think. I was tearing along the main straight at the old Bairnsdale track on my Ossa Phantom when the crappy Amal plastic throttle assy came off the bars. Just for fun try pulling a bike up from warp speed with your left hand and no front brake (think about it) The inevitable crash started a litany of dislocations through a variety of funny (now) situations over the next couple of years. It also prematurely ended my budding MX career befor it really started. Cheers Jerry

I've dislocated my shoulder 19 times which all started back in about 1974 I think.
I can feel for you Jerry. My shoulder shit started back in 1973 when I looped out a mates XR75 pit bike as I popped an ill advised wheelie while riding a steep hill, the whole bike going over my shoulders, my hands still firmly gripping the handlebars, causing both shoulders to be ripped out of the sockets. I had the shoulders reset and repaired and I was in slings for a few weeks, it was very..very difficult to get stuff done with no usable arms. Toilet sanitary duties were especially troublesome and embarrassing :-[. , my girlfriend and mum deserving a medal for their efforts in keeping my bum clean :D. I later had my left shoulder rebuilt and it never again gave any trouble but my right one was never totally right, limiting me to the right side of a rugby scrum. I used to be able to pop the shoulder out as a party trick until I strengthened it up with some gym work a few years later after I got a new trainer who knew his shit.
Now that I'm 60 the arthritis has set in and it seems a whole life of footy and motorcycle injuries have come back to haunt me. Both knees, especially the chronically damaged left, my right shoulder, right ankle and my right hand are all giving me shite to the point that I'm almost totally reliant on anti inflammatories and pain killers. As painful as it is today....I wouldn't swap the experiences that caused the original injuries for anything. I bet you're the same Jerry, these injuries are like the patina of our lives. ;D

They certainly can define your life if you let them. I'm hobbling around at the moment because I twisted my good knee building a pergola last week to keep the sun from burning a fern that I told my wife would burn if she planted it there in the first place. Strangely my crook knee has defaulted to being the good knee for the time being untill the newly appointed crook knee gets better and resumes it's position as the best of the pair. Cheers Jerry

It's funny how the brain works, my ankle is in a word, rooted and I'm soon to go into hospital to have it fused. It normally gives me non stop tooth ache like pain but since I've tweaked my knee, the ankle is in much softer pain mode, almost bearable. ;)
* Didn't we cop a serve from the Angry Guy last time we discussed our creaking joints Jerry? Be prepared. ;D

ALL my bikes I ride/race/restore are fitted with NOS cables and throtles/tubes.....I have seen a few guys come to grief with snapped throtle cables....the worst was a first corner L/H turn, old mate was at the front, 3rd gear turn, sweeping corner and guess what happens when your cable snaps and you cant accelerate....and theres 20 bikes behind you on the gas?.....alot of pain and alot of damaged bikes. I also now fit brand new carbs and for the price of a new Mikuni you would be an idiot not to...funny how jetting and getting an engine to run properly is so much easier with new stuff...I look at this stuff as a safety requirement...not only for you but for the other punters riding around with you...nobody wants to take someone out by some stupid $25 part breaking and pain is something most people want to stay away from...plus the time off work bla, bla. Firko, I can relate to your not being able to wipe your bum....busted my L/H shoulder and R/H wrist at the same time (flying like superman doesnt work...you have to land sometimes) and this is when you find out about true love from your wife...for 2 1/2 months....I was driving after 2 weeks though..sort of..didnt get pinged though ;D...remember...chicks dig scar's... or so I'm told...hasnt worked for me..still have the wife ;D

That Suzuki incident is another one I almost forgot Mick....That was the crash that started the long, ever decending condition of my right shoulder. There was another one, escaping from an out of control RT1 at Foster Park around the same time, maybe a bit earlier. I remember having a godawful drive home because my then girly couldn't drive and she "had to be home that night or else" which forced me to put the hospital visit off 'til I got back to Sydney.
The 'stresses' of that little journey ended that particular romance but ironically her and I met up again years later and we're now together. She still can't drive. :)

One of the times I "popped" my shoulder was when I looped my friends RT 1 (with a Gyt kit) whilst trying to impress my new girlfriend. Neither he or she had a licence and I had just got mine. So we drove to Box Hill hospital in my mum's Datsun. Me steering and using the pedals my mate changing gears and the girlfriend supporting my recently displaced shoulder! We have been married for nearly 30 years. Clearly I won her over with my monoing ability and resiliance to pain. Cheers Jerry
