I need a brake rod for a rear drum brake, but the catch is that it must be at least 650mm long.
Longer is fine and the front fitting isn't important.
Please pm or email me if you can help.
Thanks in advance.

Make it yourself or tell us what its for.

If its just a 6mm-1/4" rod well i just make them myself. Bit tricky doing the thread with a die but it can be done. Local steel suppliers have the material. Ask for 'shafting'

I reckon its for a SWM - I have to make one about that long for mine (I haven't found another bike yet which has a brake rod that long) :o I am using a length of 6mm which I'll thread. 8)

That answers the question, Paul. Thanks. Yes, for an SWM. With a longer swingarm as well! :-\
Making one is easy enough, I was just hoping it would be easy to find one already plated etc.

I have some accessory ones complete with spings, nuts etc. Use them all the time and they are a good product. I'll measure one to see if it's long enough and let you know.
Cheers,
K

Buy some 6mm 4140 steel you will need to go to a bigger steel shop or specialist machine shop to get some. After threading it warm it with the gas a few times until it turns just red. Normal steel isn't really up to the job.

Hey fella's, is 6mm stainless rod ok for this ? :)

Yes better than steel IMO thou it doesn't have the elastic memory on 4140
