What? Has the RM gone, or has he been allowed two bikes!?

He's been such a good boy (renovating the bathroom) that he's been allowed to buy an old dunger. He grabbed the TT250 that was on here a couple of weeks ago. Doesn't look too bad. We'll throw some IT suspension on it, clean it up and he's going to maybe race some HEAVEN 4-stroke races. I've never really seen a TT250 before, but it's not bad. I wouldn't mind one as well.

As for Woody's 250H... ummm... book her in for about 2015 I reckon!   ;D

Nice! They look like a cool little bike. How do they go, say compared to the IT175? They don't run the same fork as the IT do they? I'm thinking of fitting a set of 175G forks and shock on to Twisty's TT.

The early TT front end is basically IT175D/E/F spec. Can't see why a set of longer travel IT175G forks wouldn't be a good idea. Some 38mm YZ250/400E/F forks and matching triples would be even better (albeit heavier).

Rear shock will be harder than you think. The stock XT shock is one of those crappy, short steel bodied jobs, like an IT125 or DT175 - I assume the TT is the same.
The alloy bodied shocks (with remote resevoir) are all too long and the resevoir hose/fitting is too big to get up under the XT tank.
The earlier YZ-D/E/F shocks would probably work, but they're miles too long.

Ummm... might be lucky though. the hot tip back then was to fit a YZ250F spring to the stock TT shock, so presumably the shock is a reasonable length, perhaps longer than the XT. We will see I guess...

Works Performance shocks do a replacement shock for $385, they would valve and spring it to suit your weight and intended use, thats what I'm going to do.

Gday Cyclegod,
Are works shocks here in Oz or are they in USA, price seems right,  i was considering  YSS for my YZ125E, but the price was $999 which is Probably not too dear but more than i paid for the bike...

Have to get them from the USA, according to their application chart your bike would be US$575

and to continue the hi-jack - I recently got a WP for my YZ - $525 plus shipping - triple rate spring and all the goodies - looks good and they are excellent to work with.  They actually chased me down to work here in Tanzania because they did not want to make the shock without some more info.  Tom Edison - great guy.

Sorry!

cheers

Look I feel really really bad. But you'll see I *did* start another thread to keep talking about TT250s...

Now back to Woody's YZ250H.

I don't think its one of mine and if it’s a 250 then it's definitely not one of mine

Aaaah, come on Woody - it will look great chromed   ;);D ;D
I have done every nut bolt etc on mine, happy to help if you think I can.  As Ted has pointed out mine took me about 2 and a half year, but that's just because I am so busy (slack)  ;D
