the PE needs a tank, a rotor, a fork.  OK $200.
so why on earth does the new Honda self destruct and need thousands?
No wonder people don't buy them...

I would be splitting cases to check on crank .... from what I see of rotor .
From what I make of it , The honda has tee boned him and has folded up under impact ......there is talk of a 85 mph impact  ???

Stew from the look of the damage it's reminiscent of what happened to myself not on one occassion but twice! :o 85mph would be the combined speed (roughly) for the head on which appears to have glanced slightly off centre and under the tank hence the damage to the fork, mag, stator and tank. Kind of lucky it wasn't a full size bike. I would say the 2 head on prangs I had were probably the scariest moments of my life to date (1 was a spanking new kdx250c=multiple injuries but I never followed up after the ambo left and the 2nd was with a YZ100E=broken his arm and ribs). Both times I was the innocent party on my 400C and fortunately both times I came out virtually unscathed in comparison though my bike had the bent/gouged fork leg upper and lower, smashed guard and front plate, bent bars, broken spokes, broken lever etc..similar to what's shown minus the engine damage. Both times on blind corners at speed and both times the other rider frozen and basically rode into me :-\

Hey Monaro, was everyone OK, this shit happens at menai every month, people die cause they look at the terain that the fron wheel is hitting rather than 30 feet ahead... Ive had a slow head on at menai, no one hurt, the wr250 came off second best to my KTM....

Hey Brett,i stole the link off youtube and was just surfin' PE videos...watched a bit of Frosty doing his thing on the 400 ;)

Back in the 80's (riding the PE of course) in Noogee state forest, that was a common thing, mainly on long weekends and the air ambulance would have to come in and air lift the injured.

Keep them coming Michael.
What camera are you using? The quality looks pretty good to me.
See if you can oneday get the rear shocks done as rebuildable and keep them aside to put back on "for that show value"

cheers...Mario

A couple I couldn't upload Mario one I slide down a hill and crash through a heap of tree branches but I probably shouldn't upload ones that have swearing in them.

The camera is a contour hd it is good it is not the 1080 model but the 720 but seems very good quality I will try and upload the hill climb tonight.

It sounds better with geoff's pipe but more important it goes better I thought the pipe wouldn't make a noticable difference but I was wrong it definetly goes better with geoff's pipe on thanks Michael. :)

Michael, viewed your videos and it brought back a few memories of late ...gotta watch that clay as it is as greasy as a butchers prick  ;) try dropping your front tyre pressure down to around  12psi .
Cheers   stew

The last time I went the water was right up so it was alot more slippery, usually the roads are rock hard clay and you can go into a corner that hard on the 400 and chuck the back out and go out that fast.

Nearly come to greif with some big kangaroos there though the few times I have let others ride the 400 you can here it a long way away.
