Neither sold. Seems like they were quite nicely priced to sell. Gotta love the E. Sine of the times...

I'm surprised also, people whine about no cheap vmx bikes being available but then you see items like these get passed in :-\ shit, I'm not even a Yammie fan but I'd have either of those 2 if I were cashed up and looking for an affordable ride bike ::)

Doc,i was watching both of those as i like the late 70's YZ's quite alot and thought they would be snapped up. ( am i beginning to reveal my soft yamaha side? ) ;D

This time of year is hard to sell (if you're selling) but for a buyer..sometimes a bargain can be had.
Some of the YZ80's are pulling in good money at the moment.
I'd jump on a YZ80F (haven't seen one for along time )or H (for parts) or the right price even a K to get mine together but the "real" monocross rear 80cc i grew up with.
Theres been some cheap RM80's lately....but none my way yet!

Mario the old bike pricing really is unpredictable in the market place eh, what sells for $3000 today might be flat out getting a $1500 bid tomorrow. It's all well and good to say I reckon my RM400 is worth $3500 but in saying that it could take a year before the right buyer spots it and decides to purchase. It may sell tomorrow but for vmx it's not the most desirable choice for the $. The vintage 80's are even worse simply because they are purchased on sentiment alone. There is no vintage 80cc class so there is no other driving factor except sentiment and wanting something you once owned or wished you'd owned as a kid. For me the mini attraction is twofold, I'm still the same size I was when I was 15 so technically I can still ride them without bending or breaking them :P and secondly, they only take up half the space of real bikes so I can have twice as many ;D all in theory of course..if I were practicle I'd want nothing to do with old bikes period :D I will get myself a watercooled/disc braked RM80 someday (any era) but after that enough is enough ;) I wish I'd never sold my YZ250G..I really do kick myself for that mistake ::)

Totally agree with you Chris about the 80's....sentimental value and yes they do take up less space.
An 80 will haul my weight no problem either.
Its strange that a class of bike that basically started it all for most of us.....doesn't have a class.
Would love to see the old minis getting around the track...just as a feature race or demo to get the kids/older people trying to act like kids :P interested.

Yup, i too have a soft spot for mini's of the early era. Would love to build a hot RM80B/C/N to go with my soon to be resto'd RM80B. Would love to see a class ran for them.

I sold an 83 Honda CR250 recently - good nick - got what I thought was a fair price - went over East.  Turns out one local guy who was interested thought there was something wrong with it because it was too cheap!!!!!

There's a thought an 80cc class just where it all started,as a support class that would be fun to watch, hang on to be in, im in........ :D
