Would someone be good enough to tell me what diameter the front brake on a '74 250CR Mag should be, please?
I needed a new front wheel for the bike I bought, but the replacement wheel that I got from the U.S. has a smaller brake hub that the one on my bike. 140mm vs 160mm
I'd like to know if I bought a bike with the wrong front wheel or I've bought the wrong wheel afterwards. (Which was advertised as being from a 1974 Mag 250CR btw.)
P.S. The axle doesn't fit either!!! >:( >:(

I just found another Mag wheel for sale online and when I measured it on the screen, it also has the smaller 140mm hub.
If that's right, it means the bike I bought had the wrong front wheel! :'(
It would be good to get someone to confirm still, if possible.
Thanks in advance.

All sorted. ;D
Should have just rung Husky Pete in the first place! :D

Tony, unless your bike is going to be a garage queen..I would run the bigger front brake..have done in my bike since it was built... :)

What you need to keep in mind is that I'm a pedantic old prick about things being period correct. :D :D :D

Well.....the hub is period correct..same hub appeared in 1969......and went all the way thru to about 1982 /83 when the twin leader brake appeared... so no probs with "correctness"..... :)

Thanks for the info, Watto. ;D
Turns out the wheel is '74 400CR which makes it legal at least.
But I'm still trying to get back close to stock. ;)
