That's sad news.. Rich was a legend from the 70's Honda Team.

Yeah that's really sad, even sadder when you read Jody Weisels obituary. Even though I usually think Jody's a wanker, I must admit that the bugger can write. Rich Eierstedt was one of those legends that put American motocross on the map back in the seventies. He didn't deserve to die so young.

I thought it was a sad story with a happy ending .He won the race he wanted to win 17 years earlier and finished with “I am one lucky alcoholic" plus he found God .I say he is a winner all round.

I was at the muddy Trans Am race at St Peters Mo. when Eierstedt was the only rider not stuck in the Support Class. Ya he was using some "creative" lines, but what a rider. He's always been a legend to me.
