ok here we have my new project i won on ebay cr250 1985????fully rebuilt motor ha got home put water in bike and changed oil sounded ok for a lovely 3mins then massive knocking noise should of known something was wrong when the old guy said it had no water!!anyway what can you do,now im trying to find out if its even a 85 model the vin is JH2ME0309FC707448 ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT THANKS..

yes the # matches a 1985 RF model

10th digit denotes model JH2ME0309FC707448

if you don't already know the mid 80's Honda's that have magnesium water pump housings corrode easy, so this is more than likely your water loss problem

Thanks mate just found the rattle also the magneto nut had come of so its all good! now i can go back to liven the dream with my new cr250 85 model thanks again for you help !!!!!!!!  :)

Hi just one more crazy question i have had this problem on many of my projects but cant seem to get this one right turn on the fuel and pours straight back out??cleaned all the jets etc with compressed air !  and put back together still no good any clues! thanks jason.

Needle and seat may be worn or float level is too high.
