It looks as though we are now a Rugby League nation over here.World champions and now Four nations champions........
-
Yes, I knew the lads would come thru.
Placed a couple of very late bets here in Sydney for Champagne and through the NSWTAB, so am looking forward to collecting during the week.
I never watch League or Cricket much, but often like the big games and this ranks among the best.
Don't worry 43, if you do not have any other replies.. ;)

The ref had a bet on ;)

Just returned from the game....the better team by far won....got to high 5 Benji after the game...and about 10,000 bro's.....is there anything where not world champions at? I cant think of any?shit, the Aussies even look like there going to roll over in the cricket to the poms.........we better watch the borders fellas.....they will all want to be KIWI's soon!!!! ;D ;D ;D....they did the most awesome haka after the game, I dont know if they showed it on the box....Benji walked around the whole crowd after the game, if he's not the best player in the world at the moment, then I dont know who is....kumati, kumati koru koru....

I have just returned home from a night out in Melbourne, trying to explain that there is more than aussie rules in the world, and then.... I hear the news.....
I really am starting to feel sorry for Firko and the lads, rugby I can understand, league........??
Oh well.....

And whats this I see; the Wallabies thrashed by England overnight????

" Better Team By Far " ??
The game must have looked different from the grandstand, it was an even contest that could've gone either way, several strange refereeing decisions but they evened out.
Sport goes in cycles and we had our 30 years at the top so enjoy the momment.
I notice the Poms wore black last night, that's what put the Wobblies off.
-
In all honesty the league was a very lucky victory, but we will take it ;D

Hey Slider, the Kiwi's played way better than the Aussies, the Aussies spent most of both halves defending, something there not use to ;D....that score could have blown out to be quite embarassing with a bit more luck going the Kiwi's way.On the TV you only get to see a small part of what goes on...ol' Loti touched the ball about 4 times in the whole game....Billy cracked under pressure (thank god he doesnt do that for QLD), there where too many NSW players in the team and the Aussies didnt respect that green and gold jersey they where wearing!!!. There was nothing lucky about that victory Craigy boy, they never gave up like they usually do with 10 minutes to go. I was disscusing the plight of sport in Australia at the moment with my accountant and we have put it down to that ranga of a useles POS prime-minister that we have....OL' Johnny and Bob would never have let this happen....I think Australia is in for some tough times ahead in the sporting world!!!....now put your hanky's away and stop crying...Sorry, but I have to pay out on you'se because it's not very often we beat you at Leauge, also the crowd last night= more Kiwi's there than Aussies!! ;D :D ;) :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

.the better team by far won..
WTF ??? You'd be advised to spend more time in your seat than at the bar John....The Kiwi win was a lucky one but it was well deserved. Benji Marshall played a blinder and Lokyer was ordinary....that was the difference. It was a good game but how sad was it seeing Brent Tait break down once he realised that his rooted knee had given in yet again and that his career was more than likely over. I felt for the bloke.
For the record I invested my Centrebet Melbourne Cup winnings on NZ so I'm a happy camper. I know it's not very patriotic but I always bet against the Kangaroos....the whole "Worlds Best" crap the media go on with shits me so I like to see the occasional bit of humble pie get eaten. The whole problem with Rugby League and Aussie Rules is that they both think the rest of the world gives a toss. They don't. ;D .
-
Was sobber as a judge Mark......hey Webber's worrying me, I watched the last practice last night, I hope he has a plan cause if he's counting on the others self destructing, it'ill end in tears!!
-
Don't you worry about Queanbeyan born ex Canberra Raiders ball boy, little Aussie Battler, Our Mark.
By the way...we haven't seen a Kiwi born F1 champ for a long time...Denny Hulme in '66 in an all Aussie car I believe.. ::)

Went to the supa X in Auckland last night :) unfortunatley got a bit too pissed up and didn't see a lot of racing :-[ Aussies and yanks cleaned up the kiwis though >:( Ben Townley sadly had a huge one over a triple and i believe has a serious hip injury :(
Managed to get in a blue with bar security ;D TM Bill 1 security 0 ;D
Caught up with Kevlar NZ rep Bazza :)
Josh Hansen is a star , shows signs of his old mans talent at times .
Sorry dont follow leauge or rules only Union ;)
-
Too true Mark...but we still have our formula one team going..."Mclaren" ;)....if you want to read a good book, his life story is an amazing read. ;D :-* :-*

WHY CHANGE A TEAM THAT BEAT THE NZ LAST WEEK BY 14 PTS???
-
Gee, this thread went quiet real quick.....Firko hasnt even mentioned his beloved Wobbilies.... ;D ;D ;D
-
If it wasn't for the fact that 90% of the Kiwi players play for NRL teams they wouldn't have the skills to beat anyone.
That's the NRL's predicament, their policy is to accept players from all nations and provide coachs to overseas teams just so the skill levels of overseas teams can be raised enough to compete with an Australian side. Ultimately it knows that if these types of events are to go on and attract a half reasonable TV audiences and the dollars that go along with it, they need to go down this path. Afterall, I don't think you'd expect to go anywhere near filling Suncorp Staduim if Aussie sides continiually whopped all international sides 50 nil.
So, well done the Kiwi's but a more well done for all the NRL sides and coaching that allowed the competition to be there.

That's not how you make friends Georgie. ;D ;D ;D
-
Your right mate the only way for someone like me to ever be "tough enough" to play league would be to start with a frontal lobotamy. Unfortunately I already struggle with the limited intelligence I have.
-
Firko hasnt even mentioned his beloved Wobbilies.
I didn't watch the game so I can't really comment on what went wrong until I see a replay. Let's just say that I'm a wee bit disappointed in the lads, they should have hammered England. Although this tour's important, the real deal is next Augusts World Cup so I'm a long way from panic mode.
are you fat homo. with a name like sugar i'm sure you'd never be tuff enough to play league
Why is it that every other thread seems to turn into a slag-a-thon these days? >:(
