I posted the following on the CR500Riders forum http://cr500riders.com/cgi/yabb/YaBB.pl thought i would post here too. if anyone doesn't know about this forum and has a CR500, it has lots of great stuff on there, just got sidetracked downloading all sorts of info.
has anyone fitted a PWK carby to a 1985/86 model ? if so i have the following questions.
- did it improve the bike
- was it worth it (to you)
- what size carby 38mm , 39mm ?
- what jetting do you have ( starting point for me)
- any other info will be appreiated.
-
What carb has it got now a PJ or PE?

pwk are a great carb
about 165 main 62 pilot for a 38/39 mm
i had one on my suzuki 500 went good then i put a
40mm mikuni on went better ;D
i have one on my kx500AF and it works great
i had a 85 cr500 that i sold to damo that had a
mikuni flat slide pro circuit pipe and was ported
also had a skid plate think it must have had
some history 8)

Not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure the 85/86 KX500s have PJs. Dunno about the laters models, but I'd suspect they've got PWKs.

85/86 kx500s had a 40mm round slide mikuni
and the 250s had them as well ;)
