Hi....What shade shelters are you guys using?
How waterproof are they?
Am joining Heaven this week and plan to camp out in it on meeting weekends and at CD 5
Looking in the aluminium structure 6 x 3 mtr size range with maybe three walls covered in
Cheers

OZ trail is the go. Under $300 (for the 3x3). Bloody cheap and well made. Before that i bought a quick shade through a bike dealership. $450 was a 'good price'.Broke it first time i used it,flimsy and when it got taken by the wind it was all over. I forgot to pin the new one down but shes still going strong. I got mine from BCF....How good is this!

The one I've used was waterproof not weather proof - the diference being; waterproof, rain falling straight down will be excluded, rain coming from the sides will get in.
They are not a tent. No sealed floor, and side curtains are just laced in (not 100%water proof).
A good shelter not a tent. Would be good as a cooking area, drinking area, sitting area etc.
Could be made a 'happy home' for CD5 for a day or two with a bit of throught.

Go to supercheap and get a portable garage very water proof as I used this to keep the bikes under and slept und it with no tent very good value.

I have noticed some have shitty fittings and small tube frames, they dont seem to last long at the track.
Go for one with the better tubes and the better fittings and youll be laughing. ............well laughing while you watch someone elses fall down around them in a zig zag pile of metal due to the 12c plastic pole retainer mount snapping off in there hand. :O)

FWIW - I have the OZTRAIL deluxe gazebo (or something similar its called) got damaged in a storm - parts are all readily available and cheap ie arms and joiners etc. I like mine!
