I am restoring an 1984 CR500.

Have been lurking for a while and have finally joined the forum.

Don't know whether I will race it or not is there a good vmx club in NSW?

I believe Heaven is the vintage club in NSW and they accept all bikes up to pre90.  8)
This is the link for NSW clubs .The club contact list is the 4th one down.

Cool Heaven sounds like a up to date club would be great to race the 84 CR5 in Pre85 and the 85 CR5 in Pre 90.

just check on the Heaven thing Hugo as they only run Pre 85 ( pre -90 runs in a splinter group just started by Forum Member "Sugar") the Heaven Group is anti pre-90. in years to come they may even allow the Amish to wear nylons instead of leathers  :D

G'day Sarge and welcome to the forum.

The Retro MX register was recently formed to give riders of Pre '90 bikes somewhere to ride and race in NSW. We also cater to Evolution and Pre '85 bikes. As a matter of fact we are a celebration of the '80's  ;D ;D ;D ; Most of us are also members of HEAVEN.

We are in the early stages of putting together a calendar of race events for next year and are going to have our Christmas Party/BBQ/Ride Day/Swim on the 21st of November at Pacific Park. It would be great to see you there!

If racing is not your thing the register will also be holding regular social rides/bbq's as well as other social activities.
