Title: Marzocchi steering stem
Post by: cappra on October 25, 2010, 11:08:40 pm
Would anyone know if the steering stem from the 38mm Montesa Marzocchi's is the same as the 35mm
VB Marzocchi's or if the KTM/CanAm steering stem is the same.  Someone in the past cross threaded the
top nut and I had to ruin the stem to get the top clamp off.

Jared the steering stem in the 35mm VF250 front end is the same part number as the 38mm VE/VF/VG414 and also the H7's. Hope that helps. My VB360 has a 38mm Marzocchi front end in it (shortened 9" travel naturally).

KTM stem is different. Fitted KTM 38mm to my 77 vb360 using 38mm zochi yokes from a 414.

38mm Marzocchi are legal on Pre78 as long as travel restriction is satisfied. As far as I know the KTM and Monty Marzocchi front ends are inter-changeable although there are several variations of Marzocchi yokes I think? Can-Ams and others (SWM) also have Marzocchi forks. They where some of the best forks generally available at the time.
