My IT175 needs a new rod kit. Anyone know if the rods interchange with DT175's. I have a vague recollection of doing this swap many many years ago just to keep an old IT going. I can get a new aftermarket DT kit for about the 1/3 the cost of IT kit.

Do you have a part number for either by chance?

I got a rod kit for my IT 175 G off Pro-x last year for around $150
Cheers Mick.

Bit of internet reseach shows rod part nos. are different but but both use the same big and little end pins and bearings. IT rod has 28mm big end bore x 16mm wide, 20mm little end bore x 18wide, 105mm between centres. Be interested in DT rod dimensions.

I'm pretty sure they are the same rod kit.
I'm currently trying to build one motor out of three bottom ends, YZ125E, an IT175F and a DT175F (I think) and the cranks all appear to be the same in all ways. The numbers are different 1G8 on the YZ and IT and then the DT has 3R2.
If you go to the Yamaha Parts list for the IT the part number for the Rod is 3R2. So they are the same.
Here's a cheap one that I was going try in a muck around bike.

Thanks Peter, you are right the earlier DT rods have the same part no. as the IT. Later DT 175 rods (E,F,G) have a different number 25V-11651-00-00? for some reason. Thanks for the Ebay link, I think there are some Jap quality DT rod kits also on ebay for around $60 delivered.

DT rod kit arrived yesterday from U.K., identical to IT rod. Pressing together today. :)
