I gotta stop buying bikes without looking closer.
I just bought a bike off Ajay or cozzie or mad max or someone and it doesnt have the oil feeds ? i understood TM250 couldnt have the Oil line removed without Dire consiquenses unless the main bearing we drilled to ?
Can any one tell me how i can check to see this has been done ?
Ajay or cozzie did you do this or know if it was done at all or checked ?
Where can i get all the oil bits if i need to refit them to this bike before i run it > i was under the inpression the motor was rebuild so im not wanting to start the bike unless i know it has the mod done, or i search, buy and refit an oil system
HELP !!!!!

you gotta pull the motor apart ot see if there is a shield over the left main bearing. if its removed then you can use pre mix.

And ensure an oil relief hole has been drilled between the main bearing and oil-seal on the magneto side. Otherwise when the crankcase is presurised on the down stroke fuel/oil won't be forced through the bearing and up into the transfer port.

Ajay or cozzie any ideas befor ei have to pull this thing apart ?
Cycle can that been seen from outside or is that an inside only view, im not big on pulling cases apart ..............

Freaky you must buy a lot of bikes to forget who you get them from ;D jimson

NA both of them had it, i got it from cozzie, who got it from Ajay, what i want to know is did they do it or know if its been done, i dont split cases and kinda aint inclined to pay for it to be done just to check why the oils been removed and has it beed modded to infact run un-feed, i figure asking is easier, before it blows its brains out first time its ridden.
Wish life was easy somtimes

Go to the Yahoo Suzuki forum..there's just been a big debate on this. The slinger plate must be removed but the hole above the left main may not be needed. I need to pop the top off my RL as they are premix from the factory. I read quite few cases of plate removed, lines blocked off and no other mod and these bikes ran on indefinately. I'm a big believer in leaving the oil pumps but there really is no reasoning behind this only for the fact after having RM's mostly, oil tanks and pumps are bit of a novelty :P

Freaky,
Removing the pump is a snack but as everyone else mentioned you must split the cases to do it properly.Simply a matter of blocking the feeds, drilling out the oil hole to 3mm and cutting the slinger down to expose the bearing.
CG FWIW air/fuel never has nor never will be 'forced' through the transfer ports, and especialy not by decending pistons, old wives tale No.456. ;)

Freaky.
is this the ex Barry Senn (NZ) bike,
if it is I feel sure it was done properly

I have no idea. im waiting for Ajay or cozzie to join us, i got it from them, and im not sure they no where it came from ? i just need to know if i have to pull this bastard apart before i can use the motor, of if its been done and if so how can i tell if they are unsure or no one knows .

A picture would help Identify the bike,

Pretty sure I remember seeing this bike before either of the previous owners purchased it. It was a few years back and it was in QLD. I'd say you are going to have to take a look inside Freaky. Something I normally do with any secondhand bike/motor I buy just to satisfy my curiosity as to bore size, top and bottom end condition and I also look for signs of any previous drama and tell tale scaring. If it's all good then I bolt her back together and ride it. Even if the previous owner says he did this and that I still check cause I hate not knowing for sure when it comes to something that can go bang ;)

Wasn't the ex Barry Senn bike Cozzie sold to Ajay an RH75? What are we dealing with here?
If you remove the oil slinger from a TM250 crank it should be sufficient. I've never had to resort to drilling holes before but I see the engineering behind the idea. Seeing you don't like splitting engines pay a competent mechanic to have a look for you freak.
-
On my TM/TS VMX project bike the oil slinger was removed and no other mods were needed. It runs fine.
I can't believe you don't remember who you bought the bike off Freaky. Is it a TM or is it something else? I don't recall Ajay with a TM 250.
Why don't you like splitting cases? For a bloke with a collection like yours I would have thought you'd be a regular genius on 2 strokes.

:D this is really turning into a mystery until AJay/Cozzie can shed some light on the matter. The TM250 I remember seeing had sideplates made from sheetmetal and sprayed green. The bike was very patina at the time but I've no idea what she could look like now..This is going back a few years and the reason I remember this particular TM250 is because the price was right and I was contemplating a move on it myself. Alas, I could not afford to go there and left well and good enough alone. I was sure AJay swooped on it, would this be the TM in question??

Hi Guys,
I think persuing Cozzie will be more productive. I am 99.999999997% sure that Ajay didn't lay a spanner on the TM and wouldn't know if the correct modifications had been made.
If Cozzie can't answer then there are only 2 choices - pull it apart to check or ride it and find out [one way or the other].
The Barry Senn RH and the TM are completely different. He still has the RH and the TM was sold late last year.
Good luck - you gotta love a good VMX mystery!!!

The plot thinkins .....I'm with Doc, pull it apart check the internals out if shes all good it's cost you nothing but time . On the other hand if she goes bang = $$$$$
-
Cozzies probably at the wheel of the 767 half way to LA. I'm curious about what Freakys got and who he got it off now.
I have to agree with VMX42. I doubt it if Ajay or Cozzie laid a spanner on the bike, whatever it is.

off topic here..Stew..did you manage to get onto Pokey yet?I need to see him as well....

See i know nothing about TMs and even less about splitting cases, im not even sure we have a shop here that can do it ? I certaijnly have no room in the half built houseto open up a can of beans nevermind a bike motor loose the bits in a week.
i wanted to use the motor in a 74 project and was hoping just to bolt it up, without $$$ or picking up a spanner, it looks to me like any other 75 model TM 250, but for the fact i have just notice when it turned up that it has oil feed into it, the case is plugged and there is not oil pumps
If youd have seen this bike youd know it, As doc says for some unkown reason it has tin steel side number plate :o
Firko see pic of house - Any think i pull apart would be lost in a week. I keep buying bikes so i dont have to work on them ( frustratinc) plus i have never been game to split cases incase i cant them back together again. IF i could send the cases to someone to check id be interested ? :-X
