Title: I'm back - Ossa Phantom

Past in at $4550 now re-listing starts at $5700.

This is curious - what a epic saga of changing hands. Either someone is out to make a buck, which is odd when it sold for $6500 I think (not much potential to improve on that I would have thought). Or its dodgey.

The engine is described as "very sound engine".  No mention of the gearbox. one way or the other.

Be Aware
the frame is a Sportman with the tail section chopped off
should really have alloy guards
wrong front guard mount
looks like 13" shock are used, should be 12"
air box mounting looks dodgy
looks like an R/T or Sportsman back hub by the backing plate and brake torque arm
tank does not have the sides chrome plated, looks like sprayed silver probably bogged up

those early Huskys look fantastic, Saw the Charles Bronson film "The Mechanic" the other night and they were ripping around on these units.

Good heads up Peter, i have Learned the hard way about buying a bike on owners word or more to the point being naive about bikes that look the part. The good part about this forum is the fact you can ask questions and be put on the right path.

Nobody knows old Huskys like Husky 67 (Peter). If he reckons the bike's a lemon it probably is.
I was blown away by Betrics knowledge of XR Honda minis and also bow to Petes knowledge of Huskys. You can imagine how anal the conversation got in Kamp Kevlar at the Coff Nats when the three of us got into the red wine. I thrive on the obsessive knowledge of others.

I never tire of hearing what a person knows on a particular bike/brand. Especially if it helps me in a future purchase. Even a Hodaka, and i'd never buy one of those things  :D

Ive dealt with Dave. He did me a fairly good deal on some CR250M parts he had. He has certainly been popping up with few rarer bikes lately. I have noted its a good idea to save a enlarge his ebay pictures. Just so you can have a really good at what is on offer.

Firko,
Yes at Klub Kevlar in Coffs for the Nats, we did share a couple of fine vintage red wines, as well as the usual drop of icy cold Kozel with all the guests in the camp, and we had many a passionate and thoughtful discussions on all things VMX as well as other topics, with all the guests.
There are a quite few people around who have a good working knowledge of all things Husqvarna that far exceeds mine, both here and overseas. If anyone is in doubt of something relating to all things Husqvarna, it wouldn’t take much to find an answer to their questions.
Walter,
the shock mounts in the photos of the bike are standard, these shock mounts were pretty much standard until  bought out the new  74 250 mag with a new longer swing arm, many riders change the old style swing arm to the mag 250 swing arm in their pre 75 race bikes.
