Title: CR125M 1974 Parts Wanted
Post by: gage on October 03, 2010, 01:00:16 pm
Chasing a few things to keep the Elsinore restoration going:

1. Complete seat or will consider the metal seat pan on its own.
2. Throttle housing
3. Front rim - don't need the hub, just a good straight rim with no cracks - i have two badly cracked ones already.
4. CDI chain cover.
5. Bottom fork cases with the internals - have two NOS tubes.
6. Original air cleaner assembly.

I am in Perth, W.A. locals would be great but I am happy to pay postage for the right parts.

Cheers, Ron

Thanks for the links Cyclegod.
I enquired about the rim in Canada, they quoted $300.00 for postage - guess they can't be bothered posting to OZ.
The clutch and sidecover I emailed on Thursday - still waiting for a reply.
Thought you used to have a few Elsinore bits yourself, Cyclegod - all gone?

Regards, Ron

I sold all my elsinore stuff last year, as for Canada post the fee is about right as anything posted from there is ridiculously expensive (I found it cheaper to UPS to the states then post from there  ;))

Eldorado in S.A. charge $500.00 for an Elsinore seat - the one on ebay Vietnam at $150 plus postage is looking affordable.
Still no luck with any of the other parts yet.
Must be heaps of Elsinore stuff stashed away in sheds around Australia - looks like no one wants to part with it.

Remember, if its a racer you want a good seat...not a sacked out sponge, if your a big guy you will appreciate a firm seat to help you go from sitting to standing 30 times a lap. Ya gets what ya pays for these days...ps..most car motor trimmers have NO idea about how hard/soft a bike seat should be. E74 on this forum is into Honda shit.....send him a pm. ;)

Cyclegod, I have been watching the one on ebay. Looks not too bad, but I might be in a bit of strife if another Elsinore appears in the shed.

Davey Crocket, I know where you're coming from and I would prefer an original seat, but a decent one seems to be pretty hard to find. I'm around 75kg - if I can find a decent seat pan, the moulded foam for the CR's are readily available, as are the vinyl covers.

Thanks for the feedback - I'll keep looking.

Shhhhhhhh... Don't advertise the damn thing ::) ;D.  This could be my get into VMXWA  ;)
Interesting to see what it ends up at.  If it goes anywhere near the money you want for yours then forget it - yours is far better value.

Add a swingarm to the list of parts I am after to suit the CR125M

Cyclegod, I have given up on the seat you kindly sent the link for. Was emailing back and forth all of last week but couldn't get him to give me postage costs to Perth.

Rossvicki, I'm having enough trouble trying to finish the one I have and I would be in serious trouble if another one appears in the shed - I'm sure most of you guys know what I mean.
You wouldn't happen to have any of the bits I'm after would you??
