There you go Pancho ;D
I am a bit puzzled why it's not under the
2010 AUSTRALIAN CLASSIC DIRT TRACK TITLES
Thread though
Cheers, Mick.

Excellent stuff..beaut bikes--thanks for sharing-- 8)
whats the name of the class at a CDT that the Hagon and Jap bikes run under..??
cheers
-
Thanks for that Mick. I put it under foto 'cause I didn't have to risk muckin things up on the Griffith titles dedicated thread.[so i started a new thread].
The sliders have a classic pre 75 class and a non classic pre 78 class as I understand it.. This enables the XT500 sliders a run [pre 78]
The last pic is of my old Merrylands club friend Fred Boyd in the excellent value cabin we stayed in for 2 nights at the Griffith caravan park.

No worries Paul. your welcome.
Thanks for sharing the vibe ;D

Sliders are eligible for their age related classes , my bike for example , #454 , 1968 Hagon frame , 1976 TT500 Yammy engine there-fore eligible for pre '78 , also eligible for the 263 and over Slider class.
If it was fitted with a 4B JAP engine , I wish it was , then it would be eligible for pre '70.
There are no rules laid down in the current GCRs for both the slider classes , ie, up to 250cc and 263cc and over, there is only just the Classes mentioned in GCR 18.2.2.1s and t
The only mention of any of the specialist Longtrack and Grasstrack Solo manufacturers in the GCRs for Classic Motocross and Dirt Track is in the Sidecar rules , Hagon ,
There are many manufacturers of the machines used in Aussie Dirt Track, Hagon , Godden , Elstar and Antig, to name a few.
It has always puzzled me that these makes are not mentioned in the Aussie Classic MX and DT eligibility rules as a great proportion of Short Circuit competitors in the ' 70s were mounted on these machines.

Foss yes 18.2.2.1 totally lackin--see more Hagon than DOT,DMW and the like at VMX also :-\ bit of a kick for our past forefathers.
I do remember these class issues earlier on in the forum.
Will it only become a real problem if the DT nat slider class's fill to capacity..?
Sorry Pancho for taking over you nice photo thread..I will dig out the other thread and have a read.
cheers

When Penrith club first developed vintage dirt track in the late 80s we deliberately kept the rules simple and easy to adhere to. For the chookies we figured that the vintage motocross regs would be more than adequate. For the sliders we came up with a simple set of rules that worked a treat. 500cc 2 Valve pushrod engines, no cenrteport frames. I made a move in the early 90's to allow production based single overhead cam 2v engines such as the TT500 Yamaha and Rotax but it was knocked back. The slider class has morphed into a basic upright 4v cammer class now so it's time the rulebook was updated to allow for newer technology and to introduce a flat track division seperate from the motocross bike classes.

2011 rules will reflect the slider class more correctly.
