Title: '74 WR/CR400 jetting
Post by: Expat on September 26, 2010, 09:09:54 pm
Gentlemen,

3 questions.

1) What is correct Bing needle ID for '74 CR/WR400?

2) If a mid '70's 36mm Bing carb body is replaced with an early '80's 36mm Bing carb body (larger diam slide) .......will the early carbs jetting spec work correctly in later carb body??

3) can anyone assist with base line jetting for 36mm Mikuni onto "74 WR/CR400??

Thanks,
J'ean

We are running 38 Mikuni's on our 400s, you have to machine the back of the bell of the Mikuni to shorten it and cut a "o" ring groove to seal the carb to the air bell then some silicone around the outside.

38mm Jetting
3.5 Slide
300 Main Jet
50 Pilot
Q2 Needle Jet
6DP1 Jet Needle.

Standard Bing Jetting
170 Main Jet
#1 Slide
45 Pilot Jet
281 Jet Needle
2.85 Needle Jet

Vintage Husky Jetting

160 Main Jet
45 Pilot Jet
Needle Jet 2.85
Jet Needle 281 bottom clip
#1 Slide

The 281 jet needle was standard in all models up to the 75 GP series.

67Husky Do you have the jetting for a 74 CR 125. I am getting rid of the Bing and want to buy a Mikuni.
