Post by: 2 shocks on September 24, 2010, 07:02:02 am
Hi all,

Blue Rock is coming up fast so please get your entries in early to avoid delay at sign in, cut off for entries will be last mail on Thursday. Track will be prepped & remembering that the track now runs in reverse. We are singing out for people to assist with corner duty, so if you can bring someone to help this would be much appreciated as we are unable to seek assistance from the SES or the CFA any longer. Camping will be available Sat night gates will be open after 3pm Saturday arvo. Anyone wishing to fax their entries can do so to 0359 98 7237 between 9am - 6pm. If you have any enquiries please call me on 0422 550 521
Entry forms are available on www.vipermx.com

Daylight Saving commences on this weekend, so make sure you adjust your clocks by putting your clocks forward an hour so you dont sleep in & miss sign in !!

Thanks

Make sure you all support Blue Rock. They have come in as a last mintue replacement for the rounds lost & should be thanked.

Dawn, Ken & the rest of their small band of helpers do a fantastic job and need our support & help.

I see they are having the same trouble we had trying to get flag marshalls. Make sure you help out when you can. Just a suggestion to change the lunch break, like I did, to before the second modern class thus freeing up most of the modern boys, as they usually only race that class, to flag till the break after their first race.

I can't make Blue Rock, we've a clubby on which was scheduled at years start & I'm already committed to it & Blue Rock was a last minute thing that I only found out about at Monza. Which is a shame because I love Blue Rock. I would go as far as to say it would be my second favourite track, next to Monza of course. Last year I came to Blue Rock so Daryl could ride but it got to me watching all you guys & I had to borrow riding gear & have a go but the shoulder wasn't happy. That ride there was the only one I had for the year till Barrabool & that was only to get my mate Lance into it. Didn't even ride Monza last year. This year Ravenswood was more about catching up than riding. Monza was only a last minute decision to ride as it is hard to organize everything & ride too. Next year we (Lance, yes, it worked. He's now sucked in. He has a YZ465 #465) hope to do the full season but the big problem is the years schedule gets tighter & tighter. Viper always seems to clash with our club days because they try & dodge Gympies which are run the same weekends as Western Regions. It seems that we're racing (Daryl) nearly every weekend. We have Ararat WR next weekend (Bathurst), clubby 30th & 31st & last WR round Nov 12th & 13th & come & try 20th 21st. Ahh, what I'd give for a weekend off.

I know this seems a little "Two faced" of me not coming but asking you to support Monza but I was acting as the organizer, not a rider. I have only rode one club day this year, I am trying to get right for next year.

Anyway, best of luck Dawn, Ken & the rest of the Blue Rockians. I know you'll put on a great day as usual.

Viper666

PS Broke 2 ribs wood cutting last week so no riding this weekend anyway.

Have we missed something?
I new KB had a big off, but has Kenny had one as well?

I hope they're both OK, same spot on the track claimed them. Fair old step up jump that I was't going to attempt, even after getting the testicle inflator out. When KB gets better remind me to ask what the hell he was thinking on the first lap of practise? Seriously though I was right there and he did a big superman freestyle stunt thing before trowelling himself into the ground, much harder than what it looked so it seems. I honestly thought he'd jump straight up, but he was out cold & making funny noises for 30 seconds to a minute before waking up in ga ga land. I saw Kens bike circulating without him on it, he was too busy inspecting the moisture in the dirt from a very close angle. I trust they're on the mend and will be back next year. Happy healing boys.
Cheers,
K

Morning boys, after spending quite some hours in emergency at Traralgon, Mr Maico has 2 fractures in his back, so its time to hang the boots up permantly now. Off to see him now, he is hoping to be let out today once the Physio has him up, but he is one very sore chap, will keep you posted. A big thanks to all who helped yesterday, including Di in the tower helping me lapscore & those who did cnr duty & my family who packed everything up & brought it home for me & thanks to all who phoned to see what was going on. I too hope KB171 will make a quick recovery.

Thanks everyone for the best wishes, he is sitting on the couch with a big bag of ice on his back & reckons the whinge meter will be off it's dial soon, broken thumb, half his back missing & 2 fractured vertabrae's, think he has every right to a good whinge, but he said how good was the track  ;D ;D once again Blue Rock came up with the goods.

When the pain is gone, this is what big BBQ yarns are made of! All the best you old soldiers..speedy recovery.

Something was conspiring to keep me safely away from the track yesterday: only managed to get my bike going 5pm yesterday... coolant water in crank case and everywhere. Hmmm. I like the idea of air cooling more and more.

Interesting (I can say that coz its not mine!). I figure the crank seal has blown but coolant in the gearbox is unlikely to make it that side of the engine. I'd be checking the head O rings first.

What an awsome event.. i haven't been on a bike for a long time and was spoilt with weather and awsome track prep  just to get the bug back! Thanks to everyone involved, and i think there was a good effort with corner duty and watering. Thanks blue rock, the track layout is much better running backwards now and the jumps were great :)

Sounds like an awesome day .Sorry to hear about KB and KB, the track must have been so good that they forgot to low down.
I would have went but I figured that the track would be a bit too fast for my Nike's which is all I got left that still runs.
Next year.

Glad to hear that your both on the mend.

One bit of advice with broken ribs, stay away from Bourbon and Coke.

The Borbon works excellent as a pain killer but once the Coke burps start it's absolute agony.
