A fair way down. I had my '84 KX500 registered and rode it in quite a few enduros and it was crap to ride in the tighter stuff. I imagine a CR450 wouldn't be any better.  :-\

Probably stuck in a cloud of steam at the bottom of a mud bog cursing the 4 speed gearbox and mx powerband.  :)

I rode a CR480 in an enduro once. It was a real handful with stock gearing. Stalled in the tight stuff, ripped the bars out of my hands anytime I gassed it. Fun in a kinda masochistic way...

Too much of a good thing is sometimes just too much of a good thing  :P. And sometimes too much is just too much.  ;)

Looks like it would be a handfull but then I remembered I used to trailride a KX 420
It was good in the bush but not a lot of fun in the real tight stuff (read Wonthaggi six hour)

jeez what a shame Honda didn't market a big bore 2 smoke enduro like that, I reckon it's bloody nice! 8)
anything is registerable, it's just a matter of finding the correct loophole ;)

Rode my RM400 many many many times over many many many years on forestry and trail rides and it wasn't a bad thing at all. 1 finger clutch operation made it so much easier but the non primary kick is a real pisser when you get stuck half way up a steep hill or up to your axles in bog ::)

thanks for that Gaston pic too btw Noel..meant to reply but been a little hectic of late ;)

Isn't that a UK number plate on the bike?

It would not be my first choice to ride into a bottomless English bog.  :D

You can probably get them legally registered in Europe. I don,t live there so I can,t comment.
But you couldn,t register them Legally in Queensland in the 80,s.
Now with Rec Reg it might be a different matter.
Would be a hoot to ride I rekon.
Not in Bogs though. :)

Thats about where it would be on my list.

Mike they were sort of banned.  But there were still MXs with dogee complance plates being raced in QLD enduros.  That was untill the transport Dept tightened things up
It was worse when Yamaha forced us to run all enduros on private land because they didn't have a rego'd enduro bike.
Cheers

There was a  time when I was using an rm500e with head light and tail light and yellow and black thing on the back for enduro's at the time there wasn't much else that handled like a motorcross bike, and suzuki wasn't offering anything better. As for a 4 speed gearbox just meant less changes depending on your terrain.
