Does anyone know where to buy those rubber clippy things that hold the headlight cowl onto KTM,s / Huskys?
And has anyone ever got their headlight reflector resilvered or is it easier to try and find one? [ 86 Husky ]

Try this place

Yes i have had many headlight reflectors re-silvered the old way how they were done years ago (talking pre war here). They dont end up looking like the modern hi-mirror reflectors though, but getting them done in silver plate is a hell of a lot better than having some dull bubbled rusted reflector that you cant buy new anymore. If your looking for that really good sort of finish found on modern bikes from the 70's onwards or any aftermarket lights then you need to get them vacume aluminized or there is another type of finsih but i cant think of it. they are not chrome plated. Who does it it in your area, i do not know but grab the yellow pages and call a few electroplaters and if the one you ring doesnt do it then they will no someone who does.
A place that specializes in headlight reflector replating is
http://www.classicandvintagebulbs.com (in SA)
They dont mention it on their website b ut it is in their printed catalogue. I cant remember what they call the finish but i am sure it wasnt silver and was some new/modern sort of finish.
Is it a round light something like this?

Or a square one like the Acerbis Elba?
Huskys commonly used plastics made by companies like UFO, Acerbis etc
Would be easier if you could buy a new one

Very close but earlier model.
Thanks for the KTM site LW. :)

That headlight was available from 78-88. I think Falk made a round light similar to that too. Do you know what brand yours is?

Acerbis for Husqvarna.
Mine might look different cause it,s knackered.
Found one in the US, only $325 usd + postage. :)
Didn,t really want to see where I was going anyhow, too scarey. :)
