He started out racing career on his dad's Pursangs circa 1969.

Went to UK in 1970, approx.

I can't remember exactly when he left UK ... probably near end of 1971.   (He was on Husky there)
But Stan will know almost to the day, when Gary came home.   

It was straight back onto the Pursangs then - I think from 1972 through to circa 1976, then onto the old man's KTMs.

Photos?!   There are hundreds, Paul ..

I'm looking forward to seeing this thread unwind ... Bultaco party time!

My recollection is very close to Doggy's.

In 69 he won all 4 Aussie championships - a feat that has never been repeated. Ever since I  1st saw him race in 74 - which blew my mind - he was my favourite aussie hero. Unbelievable braking, accelaration & speed accros the rough. Point & shoot style

Seemed to go much better on a 250 than 360.

I'd say 76 is about right for him going to KTM too. Never went so well on them. I read somewhere that he found them difficult to set up right

im not sure off the year .i was pokeing around in a shed and this bike was there and the owner said it was a ex gary flood bike

Paul their are a lot of ex-gary flood bikes out their, john bowls has one, and its a mk7 ,l have seen it , it was left out in the weather, and at the time l had said to john to get it in side the shed.

Didn't do a stint in England around 74/75, dabbled in a bit of speedway if my memory serves me right. He was magic to watch at the Romsey grass track on the hagon bullies. One speed....fast.
