Metro Racing have a deal on their website where you get a jeresey and a pair of pants for $US130.00.
Sounded ok to me so I went to order only to find out that they want $147.80 for postage!! :o
Anyone got a better way of getting their gear or something similar?

Huskiparts has advertised new gear in the for sale section.

Yeah, I'm not sure where the problem lies. Either USPS has become exceptionally expensive or the dealer is not interested in getting the cheapest postage.
Postage has ruled Europe out for me for sometime. Looks like the same is happening in the US :-[ :P >:(

Metro use UPS as their primary carrier, if you make prior arrangement the will use USPS pre-paid satchels.

Certainly a good deal from Huskiparts, but I don't like the look of the stuff. :P I'm after something a bit more vintage in it's styling.
I just looked at Sly Fox too and it's the same deal with shipping. They reckon it costs an extra $US40.00 when you add a jersey to the parcel. ::)

Thanks God, I might just send them an email and se if they can improve on the shipping cost.

try www.denniskirk.com - they carry a good range and offer huge (75% +) discounts on last seasons gear - they will get you the cheapest postage possible and contact you for which postage you want before sending it. Service is awesome. I think they also stock metro?
cheers

We have been in touch with C&R imports and they have a new range of Retro gear available.
We have ordered a new set of blues as we feel that it doesn't feel right to ride with modern fluro gear on an oldy.
We just need to chase down some retro helmets now to complete the 'Look'

Thanks gentlemen.
How about one of these EML?

Yeah Dennis kirk is the way to go. Ive bought heaps from them over the years. You can contact them first and they will give you an idea of shipping costs. They have several options but what ever you do dont get clothing sent by Fed Ex and probably UPS too. I do know with Fed Ex, customs grabs it and then you get stung for import duty on importing clothing. It happened to me and a mistake i dont want to happen again. Cost a fortune in the end. Even with USPS im still a little hesitant to get clothing from overseas.
Other option is ebay seller 'eddy twinshock' in Holland sells metro gear worldwide.

Where does the Bell come from Tony?
-
I ended up buying it from the U.S.
Cost about 200 bucks including shipping. It's only a composite shell, but I'll also only use it for non-competitive stuff.
All in all a pretty good looking thing, I reckon. Although it would be better looking if it covered more of my face. ::)

YES someone should do a clean skin helmet so we could sticker them up with the old decals.
-
Bell , Arai & Shoei all do classic plain open face.
Arai & Shoei both do plain full face

I'll have to sell a child then.

It's your head [or do you sell children really cheaply?].
I got an HJC plain white, open face. Snell approved, carbon composite for under $300.00 at a Sydney bike shop. No complaints, very comfortable, nice and light.

I've asked Metro to use USPS in the past and they've been fine with it Tony.
Dennis Kirk is cheap on their closeout stuff but I think Tony wants period looking gear.
-
Yikes! For 5lbs shipped by USPS it would be $47.00 USD.
$147.80?
-
but also check as I think Dennis Kirk do metro?
-
Dennis Kirk only do the Metro T-Shirts, no riding gear.
I've emailed Metro direct and we'll see what they say.
Hey Jared, you can't get the stuff, can you??
-
They used to all the metro riding gear.
