Title: 54M Throttle Assy
Post by: TT on September 08, 2010, 08:23:19 am
Can anyone tell me if this looks like an OEM throttle assembly?
I want to order a new cable from Jared, but need to know if this is original.
Thanks in advance.

It is an Amal throttle that was fitted to Spanish (Bultacos)bikes of the era,so it seems right but you need someone like Montynut to confirm.

I think your right Moto it looks like the original as it has the slotted screws. I am only operating on memory so I would suggest emailing the picture to Jared. You could always just make a cable as the assembly looks period.

The Enduro range of bikes of '75 to around '77 changed frequently without any notice. I can remember my mate and I collected 250H's in '76 they arrived on the same truck but had differences between the two ???

Thanks fellas. I will email the pic to Jared with my order, but it looks like it could be ok.

I have suspected as much but I didn't think it was that blatant  :o

There's another thread where I said I can't follow the progression and/or evolution of the Monties - especially the enduros.

Looks to be the oem throttle.  I don't have the cable onhand, but can make one
up, but I would need the measurements of the old cable.  If not concerned with
authenticity, I would go with a new aftermarket throttle (Magura, Gunnar Gasser)
with matching cable and be done with it!  but thats just me!
