Title: 180 Frontera Mk10
Post by: KingBul on January 07, 2008, 10:56:25 pm
Can any one help me with the rim offset measurement for the front wheel on a 180 Frontera,I'm getting toward the end of a full resto and fitted new tyres but the knobs on the front tyre are just touching the dust cap on the left fork leg, the only thing I can put it down to is the wrong rim offset. The rim is about 5mm off centre between the fork legs. Any help appreciated.

i hope this helps , i built my 180 from a bike incomplete ,and had the exact same problem ,  the 180 uses the alpina type fr hub  with the speedo drive ect ( larger brakes ) if u shift the rim on the hub the spokes seem to be too short on one side and through the  nipples on the other , the 180 forks have a wider axel boss than the alpina , and if using alpina (like i did ) backing plate , i lathed off the boss on it to suit , when it assembled , just seems to be right that way
