Will Chad be the next ex champ to pop up running a team ?.  ;)

Rogers involvement with Suzuki seems too long and successful for him to start shagging about with the lesser brands now. I think he has retired completely to the farm.

I think he'll pop up runing another successfull team, possibly orange... they've dominated in Europe this year and are looking to do similar in the US. Maybe the chance to work with the most successful motocrosser of all time appealed to him.

l had a call from Team Suzuki couple of nights ago, and they asked me if l was interested in managing the Suzuki Team, and l declined , l was very honored that they though highly of me to run the great Team, and to fit into the shoes of the great man and  by the way Roger is a very close mate of mine, and l wish him all the best ,we send email to each other regularly, l even asked Rog if he would be interested in my KTM 125, but he had know time, Rog told me that he has planted a row of carrots at his farm and he was spending a lot of time in the garden watching their growth and at the tracks with this young future champions wataching there growth too until the end of the season, Rog even said, he is having trouble remembering their names, its time for me to move on, so l said to my friend the great man, rog you don`t need to give any reason why you are leaving, we will remember., but l also said to the champion, make sure you use up all your sick leave, if you don`t they won`t reimburse you, Team Suzuki sucks in that way.
Well anyway back to Team Suzuki or was it Kawasaki offer, well anyway someone did offer and l proceeded  to tell them that l was heavily involved managing the new OSSA team next year. ::)

Brilliant, isn't it? Half the article is about their various crap sponsors, and they don't make any mention of Roger himself having won a championship or two for Suzuki. And people ask me why I don't enjoy modern MX???

Cool Chad the best MXer in the world together with Roger the best former racer manager, the dream team back on Orange.

I was also a little amused that they only credited Roger in the article with 15 years of racing with Suzuki. Maybe he had the wrong sponsors back in those days.

this is where Chad has the moves.... he is is pretty fierce business man and knows what makes money in this modern environment. Like staging your own Supercross series and winning most of the prize money back  ;D

Are you serious?
If the contesting riders arn't up to it then they are simply not good enough. I went to a few events and it wasn't all Chad's way.

From where I see it Chad was a lot like Leisky when he came back home and trounced all comers of the day in the supercross series-won by miles.
Now since Chad has split with Thor-how about he picks up the defunct Rat Racing logo and brings it back to it's hey-day. Go The Rat-Rat!!!

Ah, how times have changed...  we used to import international riders for Supercross races to give our local guys something to shoot for.  Now we import our OWN riders back from overseas to give our local guys something to shoot for..  :o

I know one thing for sure, people like Geoff Eldridge would love the state of affairs that is USA MX and Enduro now, with so many Aussies in the hunt for top honours.

We certainly should be proud that Chad does come back to exhibit his considerble skills and hopefully pass some on to our younger up and coming riders...

...not slag him off.  ::)

just before this gets too far out of hand with Dave selling bikes and Rodger growing carrots etc,
for whatever his reason may be, the guy has an amazing record of success as both a racer and a manager. here's hoping his next move is one that he's happy with and all the best for him.
KTM and Everts in the states sounds interesting though.
how real is that proposal i wonder?

I heard an interview with him last night, he says Suzuki only wanted to resign him as a manager for 1 year, he wanted more, so they went their seperate ways.
KTM has made him an offer(amongst others), but want a response by the weeks end :o :o, but he says it is the best and most resonable offer so far.
Reedy was thrown in the mix as well.

Look, don`t get me wrong, Chad reed is brilliant rider, l personally would like to see, big price money layed out on the table that would draw the top European, Americian , English motorcross riders to Australia and a world  series external race track not this indoor crap, If l had that sort of money l would promot it myself, and l would design the track. anyway just a  Pipe dream. I still stand about my comments about Chad Reeds Promotional Spercross Stunt. I would like to see Chad up against the best external motorcross racers and Tracks, Natural terrain track around the world. And that included Australia and New Zealand too.

Calling Chad's Super X series a stunt is indeed "Horseshit".
I can just imagine Chad, Jay, Davi, etc, etc , on the starting line looking at each other and thinking, Oh yer I forgot, this is all Horseshit- I will back off and just let Chad take it. That is not how it works!

I hope your just taking the piss out of us and trying to wind us up, it`s working.

If your serious with your comments then you might want to get some facts straight and have a look at the big names coming over here this year to race the Super X series. Super X is gaining momentum as a world class series. Peter.

KTM signs Roger DeCoster to manage its US factory team

KTM, the market leader in offroad motorcycles has signed Roger DeCoster, one of the true icons of the sport of motocross to take over the management of the company’s new factory team in the USA. Work now immediately begins to prepare the team for the 2011 racing season in all of the major US competitions.

The signing of DeCoster represents a major step forward in vaulting the Austrian company into the global arena. KTM has already reached the top level of the sport in Europe and the World Championship GP series and will now also be a dominant force in US competition.

KTM CEO Stefan Pierer said the signing represented a new and exciting era for the Austrian-based company: “The acquisition of Roger DeCoster to take over our factory team in the USA heralds a new era for KTM. We now enjoy a worldwide network and we are a real global player. Roger DeCoster is one of the great figures in the sport of motocross and we are delighted that he has agreed to manage our new team. KTM is now “Ready to Race” in the biggest and most competitive motocross competitions in the world.”

Pit Beirer, who heads KTM Offroad Sports Department, said the signing of such a personality as Roger DeCoster completes the circle whereby KTM has great riders, has been enjoying unprecedented success with its latest motorcycles and now has team leaders in place that will make it a dominant force on both sides of the Atlantic.

Pit Beirer: “We are honored that we can welcome a man of Roger DeCoster’s credentials and stature into the KTM family. With him as the head of our new KTM USA factory team we will be a major force in the USA and Europe and we want to attract the very best American riders into our team. Roger has had a superb racing career and a distinguished and successful career in team management.”

Roger DeCoster was born in Belgium and is a long time resident of the USA. Known simply as “The Man” when he was racing, DeCoster was one of the sport’s most decorated riders. He was always admired for his smooth, controlled riding style and his late attacks on race leaders in a career where he won a record 36 500 cc GP victories. He was also a Gold Medalist in the 1964 International Six Day Trial, a four-time winner of the Trans-AMA series and won the 1964 Belgian Observed Trials National Championship. Since retiring from active racing, DeCoster has been a prominent managerial figure in the USA racing scene and has also managed Team USA at the Motocross of Nations.

DeCoster is "The Man" talk about over achiever. He has given so much to the sport as a rider, bike developer, manager. He has everyone's respect and I don't think I have ever heard a bad word about him from anyone. Which is a achievement in it's self in a very competitive sport with ego's a plenty from riders right up to Corporate Management. I wonder if Joel Robert will be asked to attend?
