Hi Guys,
Looking for some ideas here as the "standard" YZ50 levers are the same as a 125 :o.
Looking for something a little shorter and closer to the bars. There are a few short ones on Ebay, but I can't find any that really fit the bill. Maybe other brands have ones to suit smaller hands ??
Ideas ??

What about just getting the YZ125 'shorty' levers? theres bound to be 100's on ebay. Or do you you still need shorter levers than the 'shorty' option? maybe consider some mountain bike levers or something and then just change the nipple size.

Thanks Leith. The perches are the same as 125. All the ones on ebay I can see are for disc brake models. I will have a look at the local bike shop to see what they have. These minis are a bit different - you have to make them work for a much smaller rider (obvious I suppose ::) )

There should be shortys availble that cover all Yamaha drum brake models. Have a look here www.mcsonline.com.au to see what your local shop can get.
or go to www.denniskirk.com and search for these numbers
57-170 - alloy
57-171 - black
these are shorty lever sets for most drum yamahas 72-84

Looking at KX 60. They look to be far smaller and closer to the bars. Wonder if a yammy cable fits a Kwaka lever?
-
Have you decided to go for something a bit more manageable than the 465?
-
Yeah, even the 80 is too muck for me ;D ;D
Soooo hairdo - does a yz cable fit a kx lever ??
-
General rule of thumb all Yamaha, suzuki, and kawasaki older drum brake/clutch levers are all basically interchangeable and fit each others perches. Its the Hondas that are different. Cable nipple size should be OK too.

Excellent thanks Leith.
Levers and perches on ebay for $15 8)

I always remember seeing replacement magura levers advertised for original perches and they always had suz/kaw/yam, i probably have some here and i also have seen levers advertised as YSK so thats how i know. The exception to the rule is when theres brake light switched in the front lever but for most of the old MX bikes without the switches they interchange fine apart from the honda levers.

Thanks Leith. The KX60 ones are in the bag. They look smaller and are straight forward - very very similar to the YZ perches. I'll see what happens when they get here. Thanks for the help and advice. Always appreciated.
