Title: Cleaning up a Kickstart spline.
Post by: Freakshow on August 17, 2010, 01:03:05 pm
IS there anyway to clean up a kick start spline ???

i tried to fit a Dt2 kickstart on my bike only to find the spline used is the same but the Kicker on the ealry ones must be thinner width hense the 2/3 is too wide and stick out from the end of the kick axle.

Never fear i have one that will fit must be the correct thinner early Dt1, but the splines are a little crocked and wont go on properly.  Is ther anyway to strainghten and clean them up ?  its not a knucle so i cant just change the head, and like i said all the other ones are later model and are thicker so cant interchange.

So after a fix to the spline or an ealry kicker if anyone has one.

Selling a cheap Dremmel copy at Bunnings rite now [ $20]
The kit has tiny cutoff wheels in it.
I find them handy for stuff like that.
