Hi all,
seeing as the Seymour Viper round has been cancelled are any of the Viper guys and anyone else interested in having a ride day and get together at the Parwin track. Peter.
-
i may be a starter Pete.
-
Yeah. I hear it's the third round of the International over 30's, under 5'7" one legged cross-dressing 500cc titles on at The Parwan Motocross Training Facility on the 29th.
Grouse! I'll be there..... :)

didnt you win it last year as well :o

I'd like to be there, but I slipped over at work yesterday, one leg went one way the other went another way with the end result being my left hamstring ripped off my arse and a tweaked right knee! F&$k it hurts! Hopefully I'll be right to ride by Monza. Who said motorcycles were dangerous?

Thats almost as silly as slipping over in the mud while spectating ::)
-
I remember that day, sad but funny at the same time, at least I'm smiling now, thanks for the memory. That same bandage is in use right now. You didn't have an open fuel can in your hand and absolutely drench yourself with fuel though. Enough said now, and I think the facts might get a little blurred from here on in. "I was out training & nailed this berm at 100mph when.........."
Cheers,
K

I wouldn't mind a ride - need to get some riding under my belt after a crap day at Ravo.
Can you post up more details (timings etc) as I haven't ridden that track before. Camping available? Might be able to get a few mates along too
-
Im thinking of having a bit of a test and tune sorta day at my place (smallish track but usable)mount cottrill area, this sun 22 if any of you viper guys are interested,"viper 65" and his bum chums usually come over, have room for about 10/15 bikes maybe........am I going to regret this?????????????

You must live pretty close to where the now-shut-for-good Melton track is.
Don't get too many bikes out at your place, some bleeding heart will head out there and find a legless lizard/rare form of grass/burial ground on your property and shut you down too >:(
-
Yeah. I was thinking the same. :(. A nice thought Rob but you might be shooting yourself in the foot...... :'(
No camping at Parwan Steve. It's just a pay track (and a pretty average one at that) and you can get in anytime after 8.00 on a Sat/Sun.
I wouldn't be turning up with a nice new tyre either....... ::)
-
a used road sllck should do the job.
-
ya maybe right ross.....but me neighbours are pretty good....1 actualy comes round for a ride occassionally.........others sit watching with beers in hand (probably waiting for the dumb pom to crash) ha ha.....any way as long as not too many rock up and i can dry the track out a bit all should be ok.....any one who wants to come just need to give me a ring sat arvo to confirm.

I agree Ross. I went to Parwan a few times when it first opened (maybe five or six years ago now?) and it was brilliant to ride on. It was nice soft tacky clay. After riding it recently, I'm absolutely convinced that it hasn't been touched since. ;D It's been a good track before, why they can't spend a bit of $$ on it from time to time is beyond me. What do we have to do to convince them to rip it a bit and give the track a bit of a freshen up???
-
We used to go there a few times in the mid 90's and was really grouse. The main track was a lot bigger and it had some really cool sections in it with some some big (safe) jumps that people could use or safely go around. I think by shortening it and putting those stupid little table-tops in everywher they thought they'd make it safer but now that back straight is one huge whoop section that you end up flat knackered on.
When I came off along that section in 2005 I didn't stop bouncing 'till I hit the pits :o. Since then I only ride up the back or kick the kids off their KTM auto's when pulling a few block-passes on them on their track..... :P
-
Well gents the forecast for Sunday is 17deg and sunny so who is looking good for a ride ?? I will give the track a call Saturday to confirm it`s not under water and let you guys know.
Hoony are you at least gonna bring the 500 up and leave it on the trailer ? seeing as you don`t want to wear it out :D
-
I'm in. New Monty to test..... :P
-
What`s the chance of Maico man showing up with a few of his toys. ?? C`mon Paul i promise i won`t crash it, well i hope i don`t crash it. ;)
-
You wouldn't be able to sit on one let alone ride one of the things with all thet Armour-All on them. Two, big, red, slippery-dips..... :D

True, what gets armour-all off so i can bring some just in case the man shows up.

Nice one Pete. the simple fact is i can't start the thing and i'm sick of using wet ones to wipe Ross's drool off the seat and tank ;)

Hoony,
one word BULLSHIT.
I will have my WR500 and my 250 G with me and if you like i will bring the 4 stroke and even start any of them for you everytime you want to ride, and supply the fuel.
Don`t worry about the Nimmo as i have noticed a lot more drool from him as of late also, it`s just an age thing. :)
Back to you.

I just rang the track and so far all is good for tomorrow, just a few puddles on the track today.
-
Sorry Mate, i won't mate it tomorrow. i have some things on the home front to attend to. hope you all have a great ride though

Ok Hoony,
we will put another non-attendance in the book for ya, hope all is good. Peter.

Hoony,
you missed a good day at Parwan today. I have a feeling there might be some photos being put up later that might just make you laugh.
Something to do with a certain couple of bikes leaning on trees with puddles of oil underneath them and the owner being not very happy, yes he was reminded several times about selling a bike that never gave him that sort of trouble.
Mark where are those photos ??

The Spainish fleet hasn't had a loose bowel movment has it ?? ???

Something like open heart surgery at the track KB, not a pretty sight. That was just one of the fleet, i was told the other one sounded like it had an exhaust brake fitted.
I probably should stop talking about now as i was warned not to say a word. Ha Ha :) :)

You blokes are unreal!
The problems with my racer VF had nothing to do with the Spanish engineers of thirty years ago. And.....
I took the VE for its maiden voyage. The first thing I noticed was the clutch was slipping. On average, a pretty standard thing for a thirty year old clutch I'd be thinking. The picture you can see with the oil under the bike is from me swapping the clutches over. No big deal.
I had more problems with the VE but I put it down to teething problems of a bike I've just built. I don't think I'll be giving it away yet..... ::)

Good to see you come out for a ride yesterday yamatragic now you just need to enter for Monza and have some fun.
Thanks for taking the photos, i think there was only one bloke that wished you had left the camera at home.

I didn't even know he had the thing there! Got quite a shock this morn.....
That was still a pretty grouse day. Good to see a good turn-out of old stuff there. :)

Ross now you know how "the Press" always works.Never mind the "truth" when you can sensationalize and story with a misleading pic or two!
-
Don't I know it Brent. It's like my whole incident at the drive-in years ago. The bastards ran that into the ground! >:(
If a guy can't have a quite night watching a movie with his goat after a busy week well then..........
So is that the second or third ride, king of Parwin?
You've lost me here Jason.... :P

Don't worry about it Ross, Jasons just winding me up, seeing Parwin is now my "home" track, the way Motos telling it I'm going to end up on some name & shame TV show for my journalistic efforts :o
