Title: I must be crazy
Post by: cyclegod on August 16, 2010, 07:22:42 pm
I must be crazy, I'm contemplating another TS185 project, only this time I would shoe-horn it into an RV125!

I think it would fit in there and still be able to use the stock TS185 pipe without it looking too obvious

What do you think?

I think you're right.................... you are nuts..............  :D :D

Only kiddin'.  ;)

Does the RV have a blown engine, though? I'd be more inclined to hop up the stock engine that replace it altogether if not.

Either way, it will be a good Vinduro machine..................  ::) ::)

The picture is just for reference only I don't actually have one yet but I can get one cheap complete and seized and I have a very recent in-depth knowledge of TS185 based hybrids. I figured that it would be a cool project as I have not seen an RV let alone a TS185 powered one in decades, the last time I rode one I felt it was woefully underpowered. A TC185 engine might be nice as it would have Hi-Lo gears and electric start.

I think it would be as easy as fitting a TS185 into a TM125 God. I'm sure the RV is just a TS motor.

I have a good 185L pipe (with the pressed heat shield rather than wire) and maybe a TC185 motor.

you might have clearance problems with the exhaust port to frame down tube as the motor is offset to the left for clearance for the fat rear tyre, just something to be aware of.ive got a cheep bare frame if thats any good to you

If thats the case I might try an ER185 instead or use an offset sprocket (measure once, cut twice, swear a lot  ;D)

I could fit a GT185 with a 2 into 1 exhaust  :o ;D

c/god
the er motor with its centre exhaust port might have exhaust clearance problems as well as i dont think the 125 motor was offset that far, maybe the side port 185 motor could be fitted with a offset countershaft spocket if anyone makes them
