Title: 1983 CR 500 rear brake
Post by: HL400 on August 10, 2010, 05:56:27 pm
Hi Husky experts, does any one no of a splined rear brake cam and lever that will fit a CR500 backing plate as the standard one only has a single flat on the cam, so there is very little adjustment. also a alloy brake lever would be nice as well.  HL

Hmmm....there should be heaps of adjustment available on the brake rod.  You shouldn't have to move the brake arm on the shaft.  Are your brake shoes worn badly? If so replacements are plentiful.  Cheers

Strange.  Can you post a photo of the setup of the rear brake plate. Are you using the original brake rod and stay rod? You should also be able to adjust the position of the rear brake pedal.  Maybe you have it set way too high? That would mean the brake rod would need to be screwed right up as you describe. Just guessing!
