I have got a really good tank I could swap. ;)

Thanks Frosty, I'll see how this one cleans up first, but I'll keep you in mind.

mx and dt100 running up till 84 have the same headlight assy easy to find.
-
Reckon I've got a kick-start lever and an igniton cover. Also the IT quick-release rear brake do-hickey. I've got some fibreglass (reproduction) YZ400C side panels too, if they're any use?
VMX Plastics wll get you a pair of excellent quality new guards. I've probably got an OK condition front guard here.
If they're 34mm forks, I'll happily swap you for all of the bits to put some 36mm items on...

Wanna double your money, Rog?? :D :D
Seriously, well done mate. Nothing like a good, original find like that one. ;D
-
IT400C on here has 2 of these....very rare bike....I think only sold in USA and Australia....basicly a modified MX400B....cool bike.
-
........actually YZ400, the original IT400C only had 61 parts that were not YZ400.
Tank, guards, speedo etc plus the first gear is lower and the fifth gear is higher, also the forks are 40mm longer, other than that, pipe, frame, gear ratios were all the same.......which was a good and bad thing, as unfortunately a lot of them were stripped out and converted back to quasi YZ motocrossers.

Hey Roger, just for interest sake, how did you find this one?
Were you asking around or did you just stumble across it? ;D
-
.....a mate heard about a bloke who supposedly had an IT425 in his shed, then it was a 400. After I found him a near mint YZ465 for $500 I claimed the IT.The YZ came about when another bloke rang me and said his sister had a YZ465 that belonged to her ex-husband and she wanted to get rid of it out of her shed........see....simple ;D ;D ;D
Roger
-
Yeah............. simple................... ::)
:D :D
-
..........all she needs now is some TLC..........time, labour and cash ;D ;D ;D

....top end rebuild, proper seat and a new rear guard

Thats a "C" model 1976.
It's basically an MX 400 B 1975 but with a better (lighter) rear monoshock triangle. The MX 400 B had a heavy square tube triangle ......... there was a point while power sliding through a corner...... a point of no return where one noticed that the rear wheel was passing the front wheel, and you just knew it was going to hurt!
