Bike has good compression and good spark, but is not currently running.
Original front tyre, recovered seat, very good chain and sprockets.
All the wheel bearings, swing arm bushes, etc are nice and tight.
On the downside, it looks only OK, and needs a tidy-up.
Road gear is missing, although it does have the speedo, ignition lock, helmet lock (no key for either) and headlight mounts.
Original exhaust, including a not-too-bent original chrome heat shield.
It's a greeny-blue one with the yellow stickers - I think it's a '71 model, but the stuff I found on line kinda confused me.
Bike is in Yass NSW.
Price is "Make me a sensible offer". I'd love to keep it, but I've made no progress on it in months and there's other bikes vying for shed space...
I'll get pic up in the next day or two.

-
mmmmm..I was bidding on a '72 SL125 on egay in NSW just recently..I missed out by a few bucks unfortunately :'( t'was barely a roller but would have been a good starting point :-\
-
Hey Whats up Doc!!!!???? You talking small four strokes??? When you do find a start contact me for some possible useful/useless info. Cheers Tim754 ( Good grief Next thing he will by a Yamaha or something euro-pee-on or a bloody useless Hodaka or maybe even a Vmx sidecar....... weird goings on ..)
-
:D not so weird Tim..I do like the little SL100's and 125's. The earlier the better..the one I'd bid on was frame with a seized motor..probably might have saved me some stress as something a little more complete would be more to my needs not having any spares except some new gaskeys and std valves..doesn't matter where a project starts eh, my theory, something's (nearly) always better than nothing ::)

In my eyes that is one nice little bike Nathan 8)
needs a little work but then a lot less than some bikes I have purchased ::)
-
Mmmm I Will take it ,Tim........... ;) But hey I have some left (OK three got burnt out in shed fire :()So Doc it is yours if you like.
-
Tim I'd love it to pieces!!..literally!!..I'd put it back together though I promise!! :D thanks for the option blokey bloke but I doubt I could afford it so soon after Santy :( hmmmmm...maybe I could..just a sec..gotta think what I can sell or do to fund this vessel of impulse..mmmmmm..ok
Nathan..do you have a $ BUY IT NOW figure in mind that would ease your suffering at the loss of this lovely little beast??..I hate being the one to make offers as it could offend and I'm always tempted to start at 99c.. :P could be the reason it seems to offend I guess :-\ ebay habits die hard ::)
-
I'm a bit wary about putting a price on it, because these things have been typically going for stupid money on EBay... And while I'd be happy with sensible money, I also want to minimise the chances of it being bought (from me) and on-sold just to make a profit...
I'd much prefer to see it go straight to the person who actually wants it, without the middle man mark-up.
Send me a PM with an offer, and it'll save everyone the Ebay bullshit. I am not easily offended. ;)
Cold hard light of day edit: I don't think the bike is worth thousands of dollars, even on Ebay. I'm thinking it's probably worth a few hundred on Ebay. It owes me ~$250. That's the ball-park I'm hoping for.
-
sounds good to me 8) I'll take it pending a few little terms and conditions. It will 'not' be onsold in any foreseeable future Nathan..actually..I've not sold a dirtbike since 1976 and never have I onsold a bike simply for profit..these 2 issues could spell my demise ::)
late edit..I lied..I sold my YZ250G :'(

AHH end of story appears to be Nathan has money, Doc has the little SL100, Tim gets the part of it he wanted cause Docs bloody OK! ;) Oh two hours ago I became the owner of a Yamaha DT100A (437 model) its a strange affliction this old small bore traily thing.............. ::) Cheer All Tim
-
we probably like them Tim cause they are pretty harmless and never really bit us like some of the critters that followed :D the only part of the bike I don't like and would most certainly remove is the part you most wanted ;)

Doc.
When Nathan got the little Honda he was looking for a good used 17 inch rear nobby tyre for it. I had put one aside for him should he if still need it by next we caught up. now you own the the little wonder the tyre here should you need it. Shes a good tyre with plenty tread and still soft even though shes an oldie.
Cheers Quicky.

I can feel a shootout coming on. THe Battle of the Pitbikes! Docs Honda SL100 V Tims DT100 V my TS90 Suzuki Honcho V Klub Kevlars TS100 Suzuki Honcho. I'd put a lazy $100 on at Centrebet on either of the Honchos to win in all areas but there wouldn't be much in it and it'd be a fun shootout.
-
Rats Firko the DT100 a no go. (Inspection revealed is very sad and "ground off "ID numbers, no touching thank you) But hey have My SL125 or SL70 (why SL ? cause truthfully SLUG would be closer..) but I am on to a Kawasaki G5 /100, plus a TS125 Duster. I like your fun idea :D
Hey Doc could you post a pic of my yellow SL125 if possible????
-
no probs Tim.. click on either pic for not so quinty viewing.. (http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/1793/timssl125mx1tv1.th.jpg) (http://img142.imageshack.us/my.php?image=timssl125mx1tv1.jpg) (http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/8070/timssl125mxvo1.th.jpg) (http://img142.imageshack.us/my.php?image=timssl125mxvo1.jpg)
Firko,I'll be in any trailie 100cc shootout but the SL won't be ready unfortunately :-\ I'd near lay money on a Honcho to clean up also but if one had a KV100 there'd be some competition worth considering. Surely the little DT100's can be made go ok too but rarely do they get a mention? I remember the HT90's well and they went well too with some mods. The SL will be slower but reliable and consistent and just my size ;) ..maybe with puny me aboard the it may go ok if it can shed a little weight and beef up the springy bits. Certainly be willing to give it a go at least :P Anyone seen any of that footage from those GP dvd's with the late 60's or early 70's HT90 class (japan only had it I think) anyway they really were surprisingly fast..well as fast as one can be on a 90 at least :P fun for next to nothing is what tiddlers are all about ;D
