Title: Conondale Classic
Post by: STW996 on July 15, 2010, 08:19:11 am
Hi all,

Just what to see if any of our Southern (and Northern) cousins are making it along to the Conondale classic.

Know it has been a full year already for events and a lot of people only did the trip less than 2 months ago.

Numbers are a little down on what we thought but will still be a strong event

Novelty races were a big hit last year and should be again this year.

Cheers

Shane

Shane I would like to go but unfortunately it is just too close to CD for me to make the trip up from Sydney again wrt getting time off work, leave pass etc. Maybe next year.

I hope you have a great meeting and I am looking forward to seeing the pictures.  ;D

Cheers

I think they are open all day as they where have people still setting up the track and other things? Know they are now not having a water truck (due today) due to the good overnight rain on Wednesday. So I would say you could roll up anytime?

Well it will be next year for you Alison as it is now run and won.

What an event warm as toast duing the night and 25 degree days.

Fantastic track and over 120 riders.

Big fields in most classes with pre 85 250 and Evo open the biggest.

One of our lady friends had a big one on Saturday afternoon so hope she is well.

Brad had a run in with a rock but I will let him tell his Dick Johnson story ???

Just a great event and fun had by all.

Shane

It was a really great event - I liked it even more than Classic Dirt.

What is the chance that next year the VINDURO circuit could be running as well

Sitting here doing work catch up , its 4 degrees outside ,it is hard to believe that 2 days ago I was racing and enjoying 25 Degree temps in OZ.
A big big thanks to John, Brad and their families that make the trip for us possible .It was cool to race at connandale again it is such a great circut and excellent venue. Thanks to Qvmx what a brilliant event I will be trying to convince as many Kiwis as possible to do the trip there at least once .

Cheers to all

Sunday 125 race. Had a rapidily deflating rear tyre, flat by second corner, otherwise I would have grabbed 8thish place instead of 9thish!

Video was recorded on a Oregon Scientific ATC2K which I purchased from Aldi about a year ago for $150.  Probably cheaper on Ebay now as there are heaps more betterer models. Just fun to watch.  Seems much slower than it was on the day though.

Some times you can even hear me muttering and cursing as it is mounted to the mouth guard of the helmet and gives a really good view.

That is my freakish little YZ125J.  Not a giant killer but soooo much fun to ride and just keeps coming back for more.
