-
hey monty theres one for sale on u.s ebay buy now price $129 he has spelt montesa with double s(montessa) its vb125 but there the same cheers mate
-
Thankyou, I saw that but the VB125 tanks, as far as I know, are slightly smaller unfortunately. Can anyone confirm for sure I can remember the VB125 I had back in the day had a much shorter tank?
Doesn't 'P' you off when they spell Montesa - Montessa. Thanks anyway
-
you could be right i think the 125s were the same as the va's and v75 tank ive got a va360 and the vb tank on ebay looks different more like my vb's

yep the spellings hard...look at the bloody tank it says it right there
-
I fitted 125 tanks on VR 250 and apart from one fuel tap no difference.
-
The VB tank's had the breather beside the cap (for the purists amongst us). ;)
-
Thanks Paul, have sent the guy an email regarding postage. The tank is actually a 74 - 76 late VR, V75 or VA tank can not remember the stripe colours for those models.
Ross is correct the VB250/360 had the breather beside the tank cap while the VB125 had the same tank as the VA125 which looked similiar to the VR250 tank. The earlier tanks fit but do not fit as well and can contact the up pipe.
Thanks for all the help

well that makes the one on u.s ebay the vb shape

The tank on US EBAY has the tank cap on the centre line of the tank with the breather between the tank cap and the mounting bolt whch makes it a VA/VB125, VA, VR or V75 (not sure if the VA360 was the same as the 250). The lack of strips makes identification difficult although it has two fuel tap outlets so is not a VA/VB125 tank (unless someone has been game enough to add the second tap :o)
The VB series had the cap offset to the right of the centre line and the breather was offset to the left and beside the cap. The VB250-360 series tanks are 20mm longer than the VR, VA V75 tanks (I just measured the ones in the shed).
I appreciate the help and please keep your eye out but I would prefer a VB series tank if possible.

sorry..that is very true i just double checked mine

If the guy won't ship outside the US, let me know and I help with that.
Jared,
S/W Montesa

It a VR I think - but should fit and work - unless you are doing a OEM resto :P.

montynut, I noticed more Monty tanks in the back of that ebay picture. Might be worth contacting the seller about his other tanks also.
Cheers Stan.

I have sent the guy an email. I think it might be a 54M '76 enduro tank although it is very hard to tell. Have asked him to send some measurements.
Thanks MX250
