Title: Help Guys. Husky problemo
Post by: Mike52 on July 01, 2010, 07:27:47 pm
Hi.
Gotta 1986 240 Wr and am trying to remove the primary drive gear.
Have just bought a hydraulic puller in frustration but am not game to use it
because I don,t want to wreck the water pump drive thingy on the end of the crank. ::)
Suggestions?

Yer real handy Lozza. Tried the small 3 jaw puller and that,s why I bought the bigun.

The trick is ,
the gear is the same on both versions the water and the air :D

You might have a point Lozza.
Still gotta get the crank outta other side case.
Seems to be just a touch tight.
They never wanted these things to come apart did they. :)

Not sure about the end of your crank, but my 510 te primary drive was pretty bloody tight.. Only room for a 2 jaw puller, tight as I dared then a wack with a hammer on the puller bolt . It came off so fast it hit the side of the shed..good luck!!!
