lot of money for a rough bike ::)
-
and the big question
Why?
-
It is the wrong way round the cr would go faster in the cr and xl?
-
hmmm a pre 85 bike with a pre 75 motor that looks like its been built by a one armed monkey with brain damage
-
Yer was wonderin about that? :)
Didn,t like to say nuffin in case some one liked it. :)
-
I guess hes still fabricating the rear upper engine mount ??? and the bit of coat hanger to hold the footpeg outa the way of the kickstart has taken some thought ::)
-
and the big question
Why?
Queenslander -weird mob ;) :D
-
Don't understand it. :o
More a frankenstein then a hybrid ;D
-
Hey. I'm from Qld and I think it stinks. Don't blame us!
-
Gee, a tough room to play to :-[.
The question is never 'why' but rather 'Why not' ;) ;D.
From what I can see it's a pretty tidy Hybrid.
-
In England all they race is hybrids, all 4 strokes.
-
I like hybrid's, but it's obvious here that he gave up trying to find a water pump cover for the CR and went with something that has parts in abundance.
My hybrids have all been a necessity of budget...
First was an RD350A in a YZ frame followed by an XT500 in the same frame (road licensed too ;D)
Second was an XL185 in a RM125A roller
Third was a RZ350 in an RG250 roller (both aquired by insurance auction)
and.... does a TS125 powered steel bathtub/trike count?
-
I have a Honda roller, what Honda motor do I have? :-\
I have built a few hydrids in my time 76 CR125 with a XL125 motor (built 1981) bored to 145, 80 PE250 with a DR370 motor (built 1982), 79 RM125N with a PE250 motor (built 2006), the two 125's went the best by far.
But this thing is just plain sad :-[ I would be embarrassed to put it up for sale.
-
l had a 74 model maico mc 125 roller with a honda engine, it was a pearler
-
I forgot I also have a RM175t
-
i am building a hybrid -TT500 IN RM 370 frame pre 78 bike but why a xl350 into a pre 85 lots better motors around to suit the era or just buy a xr 250/350/500 and put the cr gear under it dont see the point
-
I liked the transport cost to perth $1,029, don't know what company he uses, but definitely not one used by normal people
-
If that bike reaches the reserve I'm going to ebay all my bikes next week and retire :-X
-
That XL/CR hybrid is nothing compared to Frank Varadi's Maico B44.

Looks good Firko, looks like it was meant for it.
-
better but still falls into the same category as the cr/xl if it was in a pre 75 frame that would be very nice
-
Ever seen the movie The toxic Avenger? He was better looking than any of those ugly hybrids. They look like tards and are just WRONG!
