"...what would the sale price be. Any idea`s." Rarely come up so very hard to tell.

It's not totally original having been enduro-ised. It will be interesting to watch. I would guess around $3000 but if one or two bidders really want a VG for some reason..........

The engine number (54M) indicate a 250 Enduro not a Cappra (73M) apparently there is no frame number other than the compliance plate. Also the engine is not a reed V/V version which I think the VG should be (my H7 250 is reed V/V) although many photos show no reeed V/V on VG250. Does anyone know for sure?.

It has a compliance plate the same as the one on my H7. But 5 speed indicates an MX bike. The flywheel cover suggests a H6 360 engine or similiar. Spoke to the guy who seems genuine and he bought it off a guy that claims he got it new from Lyall as a VG250 but wanted rego and lights. The parts book with it is a VG250 Cappra.

It looks in great condition and comes with a VG silencer. What it actually is I am not really sure. Could be a VG250 that Lyall cobbled up for rego using an ealier H6 engine number or possibly a genuine VG250 with changed engine number and removed chassis number or many other possibilities. I suspect the reserve is above $3K

I'd imagine Lyall had a compliance plate hanging around and changed the engine number to match (whilst removing the frame No altogether). Naughty man! A mate of mine did this with a YZ 490 K about the same time and it was how you got MXers registered...

No Montesa mxer available to the public ever came with a reed valve, regardless of displacment.

The new owner bought it over for a look seeing it was a 4 minute drive from me! It's a pretty decent bike, a good one to have and will go well with the other Montesa's he has.
Cheers,
K
