I have a 1967 Triumph TR6R with a T140V engine running disc brakes front and rear. Would my bike be eligible for vintage dirt track?

The disc brakes would have to go.

The t140 engine would put you in the pre 78 class.

depends what era you want to run it, and what era the parts are from...... if you want to go pre 70 well it has to look pre 70 as does the motor and the mechanicals, if you want to do pre 75 as above but the rear disk is ok if it is a airheart, wessel etc the old 20 cent piece disk pad type, front could be same but your less inclined to get greif if you stick with a drum ( altho in TT they did run the airhearts on the front pre 75 in Dt)
If you have more modern stuff on it then you can go pre 78 and so on. so the short answer is absolutely. the only descision is what perid do you want to represent, and what bits are you willing to change, and youll find you spot on the entry form.

Why cant you have a T140 in pre 75? Those motors were out before 75

I was wrong, the T140 5 speed came out in 1973 so it'd slip into pre 75. Not too sure if the Lockheed discs would pass for pre 75 even if it's a standard fitting.

first of all do you just want to do club days or opens
if you are in sydney and want to run 2 races a day in unlimited you can leave it as it is 750 twin with disc brakes.xs650 yamahas get away with discs in opens.there is a 750 twin at our last club day i even think they let him ride in the open as well so thats 4 rides a day

The rear is standard T140 disc and wheel but with Gremica rear caliper. The front is Brembo brakes with Yamaha XS650 front forks and wheel. The motor is prob 1978 T140V the one with splayed inlets.

I should say that I imported the bike from California 5 years ago from James Banke Performance and it has been my street bike. Mind you to get it registered here I had to put on a front guard (MotoTumbi Ducati 750SS race front fitted perfectly on a 19 inch front wheel) rear guard made out of electrical cable tray and a heat gun and a speedo from a bicycle (Sigma go up to 100MPH). Oh and the chain guard came from Ducati paralysed twin ( left hand chain) - just had to modify the offset for the shock mount and used a plumbers pipe clamp (with heat shrink on the swing arm). By the way these all fell off after the rego.

Shorelines right, worry about when you want to ride a nationals, we can pick it apart befoe then, at a club day give a shit, probally only one vinatge class anyway so its pre 85 freindly anyway :O) and in a circle it wont matter much what year ya bike is.

I definitely wasn't trying to discourage you in my earlier post, go for it Ray, we'd all love to see it.
As already said worry about the legalities later.
