I've been watching the CSC website for race reports and photo's of this season but nothing has been posted thus far. Is it all still happening? Jerry
-
Hi Jerry,
Yeah it's all happening, I rode at Harrow, great bunch of guys had a ball.
I think they are a little laid back as far as updating their website though.
-
Thanks Viper thought that might be the case. Looking ahead a bit I'm planning to ride at the Lismore round. What's the track like? Cheers Jerry
-
Harrow was my first pre 75 ride with them, from what I have heard its a good track but can be very muddy if its wet. If you have a look at some pics from the last couple of years on their website you will get a fair idea of what its like.

Gday Viper79 and Jerry. I am a member of CSC and helped with laying out and setting out the new track at Harrow. What an awesome venue and a very "bike" friendly community for a change. Glad to read you liked it. I didn't get to ride on the day. but there were quite a few safety inspections carried out on my Husaberg. The day went very well and will only be bigger and better next year once the word gets out how grouse the track is. Lismore is totally different to harrow mate. Its flat for a start. The place is just like the majority of our hard packed tracks....without the jumps. It is fairly technical though, just the same. It can be very slippery when wet and a couple of bog holes can develop. Its all in the name of racing. It will still be a heap of fun. Be good to see ya there. The club has been a bit slack this year on keeping the newsletter and website on track and up to date. This will change and needs to change. Word is, big changes are comming at CSC at the AGM, and all seems very positive.

Thanks for the update TBM. I can only make the Lismore round due to my work roster so I'm hanging out for it. Cheers Jerry
-
Jerry, Gerangamete is also a very good track, what bike do you ride.
-
Unfortunately I missed that round, my mates that ride the csc rounds told me it was a good track.
-

very nice, did you buy it like that or restored the bike.
-
Nice bike Viper. I reckon the MX series Yamaha's were beautiful looking bits of kit and they weren't bad to ride either. They were much better than the magazines said, especially the 360.
-
It was a very low hours unmolested bike when I bought it but it was fairly weathered with lots of corrosion etc so I gave it a full cosmetic resto the mechanicals where fine.
It's a fun bike to ride...
-
Thanks Firko, It's my first go at pre 75. I have been racing either my RM400T or the YZ465 for years so I had no idea what the MX was going to be like, I had my first ride at Harrow back in May and had a ball I found it so stable under brakes into off camber turns, I put it down to the low center of gravity something you would not attempt on my taller bikes. Good fun!!

Burnie leen does well on his 360 mx
-
He sure does!
I have tried to keep up with him for years at the Sporting club days in the pre 80 class. One of the reasons I bought my MX was to do the odd csc races with Bernie and Beaky.

For anybody interested in comming out to Lismore for a crack on a pre 75 bike, The Classic Scramble Club has a practice day on the 15th August. Its a great opportunity to meet some of the members and get to tune your bike the way you like it. The practice days are all about sorting your bike without the pressure of making the startline on time. All with pre 1975 bikes are welcome.
