which s better and whats the closest color match in two pac to 82 honda red
-
For me Caps its 2 pac, powdercoat is great until you want to remove it.
i powdercoated my CR250 back in 1992 era and now wish i had it painted. i must admit the powdercoat has lasted well though.
How did you go at the Thaggi?

I am partial to powder coat, I am doing 2 XR200rc's up at the moment and will be doing them in coat. its tuff once its on and if u need to do it again u burn it off in a sand furnace and sandblast it. just remember to pop disposable bolts into all yr threads or u run the risk of stuffing them, powder gets into every nook and sets like concrete.

every bike i,ve owned has been powder coated suzuki,s in white, blue and black a honda in an interesting red/pink shade and all laid on like 3mm spread of butter on bread and the best remover being gasket stripper being so toxic as not to be sold in the state of california ,all had underlying rust under the the powdercoat ,moving on ;D 2 pac in A4A mazda red cost 1 can stripper $13,1 25kg bag of garnet for final sandblast $20 and $50 for the bloke to spray it easy to change if you don,t like the colour

Mate, I got 2pac base and top coat red made up R119 but I stuffed up the clear coat, ended up powder coating. Close to R119 but slightly darker.
Its a Aussie product from Interpond, D1000XL Polyester UV safe. :)

I think it is Dulux - signal red which is very close to Honda Tahitian red
-
Does anyone know what the 83 red inpowder coat is
-
Pretty sure signal red is what I got my 83 CR coated in.
Looks good and is a good match for the plastic.
-
no - signal red is for the 78/79 models and is more red than the orange coloured red used later. I thought it was something like flame red - my powdercoater knew it as he had done a few later models already and was surprised at the early colour.
