Title: dvd's and DVD's
Post by: DJRacing on May 28, 2010, 05:44:24 pm
As you know I'm in the process of building a garage/workshop and I'm installing my home theatre sound system and projector screen so I can watch music concerts while having a beer and hoping my bikes will turn themselves into something wonderful.

My question to you knowledgeable lot is, what good "live" dvd concerts have to watched.

I like the ones that are full concerts, from the time the band walks out on stage until they play the last song, encore's and leave.

I already have a few, and my music taste go from bands like;

Deep Purple- live at Birmingham
'Live'- at the Paradiso
Foo Fighters- live at Wembley
Doobie Brothers- live at the Wolf Trap
Eagles- the Hell Freezes over tour
Kiss- with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne
Lynyrd Skynyrd- Loreley festival
Melissa Etheridge- live
Fleetwood Mac- live at Burbank Ca
Bee Gees- live in Las Vegas
Kings of Leon- live at the O2 London
Metallica- live with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra
AC/DC- live at Barcelona

Do any of you guys know of any that are great concerts that are worth watching. The type that makes the hair on your arms stand up and without even noticing it you have started singing like your there, or jumping around playing a great solo Air guitar along with Jimi or even picking up the 2 spanners close by and hammering out that drum beat "In the Air Tonight" with Phil.

As I say, I like full concerts and would like more to watch. Pearl Jam through to Zepplin.
What are the ones to watch?

The Deep Purple 'Come hell or high water' dvd has Ritchie Blackmore playing and it is great. It opens with 'Highway Star' and has you rocking from the get go. It donesnt have 'Hush' on it though.

The 'Hunters and Collectors'- Under 1 roof,  is that a full live concert? I have their best of cd, I'm a fan of theirs.

Live in New York City - Bruce Springsteen. I want to get a live DVD of his, as I do have his video hits but as I said, I much prefer live concerts, so I will check this one out.

Has anyone seen one of the live concerts of 'Nickleback' on DVD yet?

Ringside? Is that a live concert too? First time I saw Chisel play was back in '80 at sweetwaters and after the 4 day concert I went out and bought 'Swingshift'.

Milli Vanilli. If you don't mind lip syncing.
The Wiggles 'Out of control in the big red car' tour.

Now here is a great live gig!! Might not fit into the sort of music you are into though DJ. Either light show would be awesome in the shed whilst tinkering!

How about a bit of a light show?
