Could anyone confirm that Kawasaki made the water cooled KLR250 as a 1984 model please. ???

No, the first KLR 250 was a 1985 MODEL made from late 84-early/mid 85, therefore no components off that bike are legal for pre 85. The first KLR600 was a 1984 model however.

not a good race bike,they handle like a damp sponge and not enough power to pull a top off of a rice pudding,buy an xr/tt or a 2 poker which will be easier to work on ;)
