Yeah You could get 2 to 5years for that, Big K

Not a race bike so not relevant.
Is this still in bigk's possession?
The attention to detail is amazing. Take a bow mate!
-
Very nice looking bike, I love the chain guide, Is that aftermarket gear??.
And the race numbers very cool. Like your work Big K.
-
It's a race bike Brad (not at a national meeting though), debut next weekend at Yarragon with VCM unless it gets sold in the meantime! The carb was in a box of CR125M parts I bought and is indeed apparantley an early powerjet model, although except for that it's just a 30mm Mikuni. That's what you with all your smashed up ignition covers too. Thanks to Tom at DC for the custom opaque plastics, they look trick. I have one of those RC125 replica's on the go myself Darren, (and an RC500 for a fellow forum member). The redback Elsinore 125's are one of, if not the prettiest MX'ers ever.
Cheers,
K

Those Marty Smith replicas are so cool.. Scott Steger does a great job. :)

Shit hot job big K,the barrel,s a bit special looking with the bigger fins,is it mugen?
-
Johnny - see Scott has his business up for expressions of interest? I liked the look of the Marty Smith replica's mmmmm!
Big K - thats nice - must admit haven't seen the carby like that before either.
Rossco
-
Michael and E74, those are just awesome bikes, I saw a 36mm mikuni with a power jet like that...
Brett
-
I would mind a 36 mikuni with power jet both bikes look great. :)
-
Yeah Rossco i saw the vintage factory listed for sale.. would be a good business to have but without Scotts expertise it could end up like Red Racer did.
-
Must be an optical illusion smed, it's a standard '75 9 port cylinder, although it does have some of our "in house" porting. Only finished this morning, (Saturday), haven't ridden it yet but it revs clean & crisp and sounds "meaty" for a 125. The photo's don't really do it justice and most who've seen it say it's too pretty to ride, but it's only paint & plastic. Test ride tomorrow maybe.
Cheers,
K

nice job michael 8)
now take that honda out and thrash it ;D
-
Yeh, nice bike Michael.
Swingarm looks a lot like 185 Suz's
-
WOW both look great.
-
Well it's fast in the back yard! A few minor jetting, brake & suspension tweaks and she's good to go. Nice & grippy in the back paddock and with new tyres, she floats the front wheel in 2nd & third if you get it right. The standard gearing (14/49) seems OK, although it's down to first in the 180 hairpin corners & you have to get the gear changes right or it's all over. The plug is a nice color with a tank of av gas, so all is good in that department. A quick nut & bolt check, spit & polish and put her away till next weekend.
Cheers,
K

Very cool 8) hope it runs as good as it looks :)
-
Nice little bike Michael. You've done something that hadn't happened in over a decade, you had me actually look at "another bloody Elsinore" and actually not be bored by what I see. After 22 years of involvement in VMX, I've seen every variation of the Elsinore thing to the point that they bore me to tears. Your bike cured me. It's a sweetie.
-
Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I must admit I have a soft spot for the red back 125's. I had a green back as my frst bike but much preferred the red back, which was my second bike. This week I'll attempt to get the Husky 390 finished for the weekend.
Cheers,
K

Wow.....that looks damn good! :o
-
Excellent job Michael.

Are those fmf swingarms readily available? I once saw one on an fmf special suzi which i am trying to replicate.
Cheers,
Steve

The FMF decals are..... ;)

Wow. So that is a genuine fmf swingarm. Very cool. I was associating this bike with the other one you had with a swingarm you made to fit which also looked the part. I am amazed at all of the trick parts you seem to be pulling out your bloody backside! Bling is good! The swingarm and pipe need to be copied.
-
Have another read of my last post Brad...... Those swingarms are readily available.
Cheers,
K

You say the decals are. Who makes the swingarms?
Btw I finally put the dollars in for the clamps today.

An FMF decal is funny thing to put on a Suzuki ER185 swingarm ;D
-
Clunk ::)

Ha ha, what a cracker!......should bolt straight onto my suzi then!

I suspect, it should just be a straight up fit.

appologies for the high jack big k, love the cr, it has rekindled interest in my own project.
