Title: Think your a good driver?
Post by: Lozza on May 19, 2010, 05:10:24 pm
Well your not because unless you can drive a rally car like THIS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7Q8r42EmfI) you still have something to learn ;D
Points to note.(after 3.30min they start going really fast)
Just try to follow the road, listen and follow the navigator's instructions, how hard would it be to read pace notes belting along a country road that fast. Also this is a Historic rally so your Imprezza's Evos etc would be going faster.
Assuming a 5.11:1 diff still over 160k's
The bugs would shit me ;D

I'm guessing theres a fair amount of modern technology in that escort, don't recall them having 6 speed sequencial gearboxes or gear position indicators either
I've got to hand it to the navigator, has to take big balls to trust someone's driving at those speeds

2nd gear was fast enough for me, and 6th gear flat out and smacks it back to secound 8) pretty impressive driving skills all the same .

Thanks for posting Lozza. The Navigator never really seems to get his head up from his musings. The driver has nothing to say to the Navigator. That there is committment folks.

Just had to order them from Ford Tony ;D Historic Stage rallying in the UK is a massive concern now, so much so that the 2 door Mk2 auto shell fetches serious $$, even heard of ratty old ones being shipped back there. A 200HP engine would be slow these days and 10k gets you a 6 sp dog box.

6 SPEED QUAIFE (http://www.hillbankmotorsports.com/superformance-parts/mkiii/engine-and-performance-1-2-3-4-5-6/drivetrain-1-2-3/quaife-6-speed-sequential-gearbox-transmission.html)

Glad you liked it ;D
