Howdy folks

Simple question, how long are the Ohlins shocks on a 1979 CR and a 1980 CR?

Remote Reservoir Ohlins for 1979 CR 250 - 417mm - This is from a 1979 issue spec sheet
Piggyback Ohlins for 1980-82 CR250 - 445mm  - and that is from a 2007 issue spec sheet

Just one other point, when your measuring up old shocks to fit a bike, check that they are assembled correctly first. I had a pair of Husqvarna Ohlins from around 80-82 and when i pulled them apart i found that they were put together all wrong and someone had moved the seal head down lower in the body to either the second or 3rd groove to make the shock shorter. This also ment that the wiper was floating around loosly and not pressed against the o-ring in the gold cap. There are proper ways to shorten them rather than doing what the person did with the ones i have.

Well, how about the older CR's? 78 and older, any of these shorter than 400mm?
When it comes to service, I know a guy who´s certified by Ohlins, and no matter what state the shocks I get my hands on I thought I´d let him give ém a lookover before installing them.

1977-78 Husqvarna 250/390 - 383mm - 140mm stroke (approx 137mm with the new body caps)
1979 Husqvarna 250/390 WR - 383mm - 140mm stroke (approx 137mm with the new body caps)

All the other Ohlins Husqvarna shocks are 417mm and 428mm in my book.

I have some NOS Ohlins. They are conventional rather than piggy backs.

There are two lengths 420 or 440mm center to center.

They are complete with springs.

They are £300 plus postage (I am in the UK)  If you dont want or need the springs, knock £40 off the price.

Will post anywhere.  You just pay what it cost.  Sadly from the UK if it never cheap (sorry about that) if you look at the Parcelforce webiste you can see the postage options.  Actual postage costs charged.

It costs about 70-80 GBP to have  a set of shocks with no spings shipped via airmail. I have found no other cheaper way.

Hi Walter,
My YSS piggybacks you sold me are still working beautifully on my Huskys and worth the money they cost me. I recommend them to any body who has a Husky.

I have a pair exactly the same.

I looked into this.  2 pairs (4 units) cost £85.  1 pair was about £65, the second pair didnt affect the price that much.
