Title: YZ125 id
Post by: colmoody on May 13, 2010, 08:26:49 pm
Can anyone help with id please. Early seventys YZ125 silver tank with strap. Am thinking maybe it is an A model but as always will stand corrected. Any help appreciated.

Silver tank with strap means its an A, for sure.

Twin shock, 5-speed, alloy rims, electronic ignition seperate it from MX125 and later YZ125s.

Thanks Nathan, thats kinda the vintage I was thinking. A mate of a mate of a mate might have one one for sale.

Can you give me any idea what one would be worth in average condition. Wont hold you to it just an about price would be good so I know where to start haggling.

Taa

There's a moderatley butchered, but running one on Epay that failed to sell at $2500 recently.

"Average" can mean a lot of things, but I'd reckon that $1500 to $2500 would be about right.
I paid $2300 for mine at the height of the old bike/car hysteria in mid-late 2008 - I thought I paid too much but everyone else seemed to think it was a bit of a bargain. There's a thread in this section of the forum with some pics of it.
